The 1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Twin Turbo was the last model year of this great grand touring sports car. According to one source, only 274 were made to be imported to the U.S. market with a fair number of these meeting a “grisly fate” (not sure what that means but at least 10% are listed as totaled) making this the most desirable and rare of this model with such low production run. The car offered here is chassis number 152 and is the 249th one built. This 3.0L, DOHC, V6 with MPI fuel injection, 24-valve, 320HP twin-turbo, all wheel drive, 6-speed overdrive manual transmission, is all black inside and out. This beautiful car is a ONE OWNER car and has less than 94,000 miles on it and has never been in an accident. I bought this car in 1999 and it has been in my possession since purchase. This is a stock car with no modifications except I added a driver’s side seat heater (winters gets cold in Wisconsin). The car is in excellent mechanical condition. Original price sticker, car manual, 10-CD changer, retracting rear window sun shade / compartment hider, floor mats, cup holder tray in arm rest, ash tray, etc., all still present. Power sun roof, power antenna, power side mirrors, power windows, etc., all work great. This car runs like a dream. All oil changes and maintenance done per schedule including the timing belt change at 60,000 miles. The leather interior seats are in great shape with no rips or tears except for one very small hole in a rear seat. Also, due to stupidity on my part (long story and irrelevant anyway…), there two (new) different styles of wheels on the car. Both very nice, just not matching. Tires are like new. The fine print. There are two current issues with this car. First is the left front anti-lock brake sensor has failed. The brakes work great but this means that if you slam on the brakes they will lock up like cars of old. Replace the sensor and all is good. The other issue is that the power steering motor/pump is not operating. The car is perfectly drivable but there is currently no power steering requiring some arm strength at slow speed. Due to these relatively minor deficiencies, I am pricing this rare and desirable car for a quick sale to the lucky person who knows about these things and acts quickly. Will you be that lucky person? So why am I selling it? I’m 63 years old, own five cars and a motorcycle and it’s time to start downsizing a bit. Besides, I now have arthritis in the hips and it’s hard for me to get in and out of it. I love this car and it’s been my baby for 16 years. But now it’s time for someone else to love it.
