Purchased Van on 4/11/11*4/25- had a courtesy check*10/14/11- 6,776,miles, went early for 8K mile check, getting ready to travel, required a filter element*10/18/11- took back due to service at volkswagen, tech had informed me 4 days prior of a couple minor recall issues. Both were resolved. One being a ECM update, and the other with the ignition itself. Had no idea of any issues prior*6/7/12- 16K mile maintence, took van in at 15,527 miles*8/5/13- took van in for a PCM software update due to a recall, Replaced both rear pads & rotors, replaced 2 disc brakes, and 1 brake lining, also serviced for 32K mile*4/16/14- In the 4.5 years, I have owned this van, my next service detail was a HUGE nightmare!! I give much praise to Volkswagen Auto and Volkswagen Beechmont! I took my van in on April 16, 2014 and didn't get it back until May 14,2014! My engine light was coming on and upon inspection, found there to be metal in the pan, they called the tech line and was advised to disassemble transmission and check for source of metal. Found several bearings, clutch plates, and function disc to be worn with grooves. Per tech line advisement, it was much more cost effective to replace transmission versus repairing it. The amount of time my van was held captive at Volkswagen was due to out of stock issues, wrong parts, delayed deliveries..... I was ok with it though. they loaned me another real nice car! Not one problem since and my van went in at 38,939 miles at time of service*6/11/14- oil change*7/10/14- replaced battery*12/3/14- oil change*8/26/15- both rear rotors and pads were replaced, including brake fluid*10/18/15- replaced front rotors and pads*I will add, no matter what type of vehicle I have owned, I always have brake issues sooner than should be, likely due to 97% of my driving is all city/suburban driving! I hardly ever do highway driving for a distance unless I am going on vacation. I have had several mechanics confirm that my going and stopping constantly around town is not best for the brakes TIRES-Replaced all 4 tires 3/25/14 @ 38,318 miles. They are 225 65 17 102T Michelin Defender 20960 ***Pictures show 2 pairs of headphones, these are used when anyone is watching a DVD. Front row does not have to hear movie! The same pic has a plastic bag. This contains the netting you can use in the very back to stretch across the van and put groceries or whatever in and keeps objects from rolling all over the back. There is also a PacMan game, which did NOT come with the van, however, I am throwing it in because my kids loved playing it when they could.
