1952 MG TD - Quality Restoration This was a total frame-off restoration with less than 200 miles since. Paint is a single stage Urethane (PPG Concept) Engine, Gearbox, Differential completely rebuilt. In addition to new bearings, gaskets etc, the gearbox got a new 1st/2nd gear sliding hub per Horst Schachs recommendation. Brakes completely rebuilt with new Cunifer lines and new hoses New Autosparks Electrical harness Underdash panel installed with original brackets (almost nobody bothers with this) Most chrome replated (some was too nice to replate) Small ding in the radiator shroud but not bad enough to cause a replate. The Coffin Rocker Cover and Finned Sideplate are authentic period accessories and not reproductions Turn signals installed with proper switch and wires included in the new harness (and they work) New Stayfast Top and Tonneau Sidecurtain frames restored but not covered New OEM Radiator Instruments rebuilt by MOMA. (They installed new odometer wheel, hence the low indicated miles) Before the speedometer was rebuilt, it showed about 62K miles. Given the condition of the car, that could of been the actual miles but no way to confirm. The starter was replaced with a new one from Moss. The original will go with the car. Looks good but was getting weak, probably rebuildable. Fuel pump was replaced with a new SU. Original will go with the car. The car had been stored in the dry desert climate for years. Absolutely no rust. The only wood that needed replacement were the floorboards ant the top tack strips. Entered it in one show and took first against 6 TDs Several excellent reference books go with the car Reason for selling - I'm old, dimensionally challenged, stiff, and I just don't fit so it doesn't get driven. Its a great car, don't think you'll find a nicer one and that includes the ones the dealers are asking $35K for. (My opinion, possibly some bias)
