1953 MG TD Pick Up Truck - Moss Motors Tribute This is a gorgeous creation of a pick up truck that is a tribute to the original from 1952. This vehicle is based on a 1971 MGB and has all the mechanicals from that car. In fact, it is a re-bodied MGB. The project originally was to put the TD body on the MGB but the rear end wouldn't fit. So the team cut and re-welded the chassis to accommodate the pick up rear end that was completely custom made. The car is mechanically excellent and starts right up and has the fruity MGB exhaust sound. It drives great and attracts so much attention. There are a few small items that still need to be finished such as a roof and the speedo and tach are in operative. The car was built in North Carolina by an exceptionally talented guy with his club members. I also have a power point file that shows the whole build but cannot get it on this posting. I purchased the car earlier this year and have immense fun through the summer driving it and going to car shows. Now I have too many cars and not enough room for the winter so would like another enthusiast to have as much fun as I did.

This 1952 MG TD is a very special example of this classic roadster. It is finished in gleaming red with tan leather interior. This TD is in excellent condition, upgraded with wire wheels, front disc brakes and 5-speed synchromesh transmission. These modifications make it drive like the car that it should have been so you can drive with spirit and cleanly and seamlessly go through the gears and have the confidence that it will stop well too with the very effective front disc brakes. This is a matching numbers car. The TD underwent a complete, professional engine rebuild in 2012, and has driven very little since. The lever arm shocks were rebuilt and provides a tight comfortable ride. The tires, top, side curtains, tonneau cover, chrome, lights and instruments are all in great condition. This car is beautiful and is ready to be driven anywhere with confidence. There is also a good amount of history from its import to the USA in 1971 and several photos of the restoration. There are a few small blemishes on the paintwork and a small nick on one of the seats. The underside is clean and the car is rust free. I bought this car to use for some club rally's but owing to some family demands, I am unable to use it as envisioned. Would like it to go to an appreciative enthusiast who appreciates the marque and is interested in the greatly enhanced experience that the 5 speed and disc brakes afford.

Superb example of a MG TD. This TD is a 1951 model and is in excellent mechanical and body condition. It is right hand drive and I have the original log book showing the English owners before it was shipped to the USA in which appears to be around 1969. The car in in Ivory White with green interior. My British Expert mechanic has gone over the car in detail and only found some leaky hoses to be a problem, and has replaced them all. The speedometer was just rebuilt and works great The car underwent a complete engine rebuild in 2012 and I have receipts. The car starts on the button and drives really well. I have a book with receipts over the years and some additional photos. I bought this car to take back to England with me and now my plans have changed and would like to move it on to a good MG enthusiast who is looking for a fairly trouble free MG TD that drives well and does not need much work, if any. The only item I have found to not be correct is the ammeter gauge which is a black background, and not the white original. The tachometer has intermittent operation, which, I am told, is not unusual for an instrument of this age. Please contact me with any questions.
