This car has benefited from a total, ground-up, body-off-the-chassis restoration about 7 years ago and is still presenting very nicely. The general overall condition of the car is very good to excellent, and it appears that nothing was overlooked during it's rebuild. The car was completely stripped down to the bare body and chassis, with all panels being removed. Quality bodywork and paint was then applied. The chromework was completely renewed, as well as all of the rubber items. The windshield was replaced with a new item. A useful luggage rack was installed on the trunk lid. A new wiring harness was fitted and the instruments were sent out for rebuild, which are all functioning properly. The car's underdash is very nice and correct. It's engine bay presents very well and original. The quality Moss Motors interior trim is completely new including correct tan leather seats and armrest. The dashboard was correctly painted body color. The new panel trim kit and carpet kit matches the seat upholstery. There are rubber floormats fitted in the footwells to protect the carpets. The cloth top is new and suits the car very well. There is also the correct sidecurtain stowage bag fitted, but currently no sidecuratins. It is fitted with matching seat belts. It appears that everything was mechanically rebuilt. The car starts on the button with fantastic oil pressure, zero smoke or noises, revs healthily and goes happily down the road. It runs, stops, steers, shifts, brakes, and handles as expected. The gearbox is very nice and smooth-shifting, with perfect clutch action. The car is fitted with a set of 4 upgraded 60-spoke stainless wire wheels. The exhaust system is new and sounds wonderful. The car's undercarriage is very sanitary and correct, as one would expect from a ground-up restoration. The car drives solidly and rattle-free like a good MGA should... Overall, a great looking "A" 1500 Roadster in a very attractive color scheme. This car represents good value when one considers the price of a donor car and current restoration costs. This car is very original, together and untouched and was taken off the road in 1971 after an accident involving the RH fender and door. Another door was purchased for the car at that time and is included in the sale. The car still retains it's original Utah license plates with last registration sticker from 1971. Amazingly, this car has been stored and off the road for 44 years! A true barn find...The car's damage looks intimidating, but is simply a case of removing two body panels, then correcting sum underlying sheetmetal. A replacement front RH fender is needed. There is also a small buckle in the RH tonneau panel in front of the windshield near the bonnet edge (photo). The car needs the rocker panels replaced. The front and rear of the car is accident-free. The front cross-X behind the grille looks good. The trunk floor is solid. The engine in the car appears to be the original 1500 unit and turns nicely by hand. It may even run (and well) with a little bit of work. The car has the desirable wire wheel option. The engine bay is hugely original and even includes the washer bottle set up. The car rolls and steers fine and the gearstick goes into all gears. The car's undercarriage looks very original and undisturbed. The driver's wooden floorboard needs replacing. Everything looks nice and solid and oil has done a job coating and protecting several areas. The car's trim is shot, but very original. Everything is present for restoration. This model was the final of the T-series MG's and is arguably the prettiest and most user friendly of the bunch. This car was recently purchased from a long term family ownership. Much recent mechanical work has been completed to make this car a good driver. The brake system on this car has been completely rebuilt with a new master cylinder, flexy brake lines, and rebuilt wheel cylinders. The fuel tank was removed and completely boiled out and cleaned, repainted in black, and a new fuel pump has been fitted. The rest of the fuel system has been serviced and cleaned, new ignition tune up parts have been installed, newer tires have also been fitted. The car starts on the button, runs and drives well, but the clutch is a little grabby on the release, most likely because of its lack of use. The engine compartment is highly original and could benefit from a detail at some point. The body and paint on the car overall is very decent. It's an older paint job in driver quality condition, now showing its age with some usual chips and dings from over the years. It is nice and glossy overall. There was some minor damage to the right hand side hood that when repaired, the paint cracked a little (see photo). Included in the sale are most of the chrome fender moldings that need to be installed. The wood on the car appears very solid. The car has recently benefited from the fitting of a new soft top and a repainted soft top frame. The black carpets have also been renewed, the seats are very comfortable and in very good condition, the instrument panel is covered with a non original wood grain layer that could be easily removed. The undercarriage appears very solid, original, and straight with some minor surface rust. We are currently in the process of replacing the muffler, which will be completed by the time of the sale. Overall a fun and enjoyable motorcar that runs and drives well as is, with very nice usable paint, trim, and chrome. It could benefit from some cosmetic improvements down the road. It still retains it's original Lucas headlamp set. The dashboard and instruments are very pretty. It is believed that the engine was completely rebuilt during the restoration. There are some appropriate dress-up alloy components fitted to the engine which gives it a competition look. An alternator has been fitted for reliability.
