This is an honest and driveable 1952 MG TD that had been sitting awhile in the previous owner’s garage. The vehicle is solid and complete. It starts and runs without hesitation. The previous owners had replaced the original steering wheel with a smaller aftermarket one and “upgraded” the air cleaner with velocity stacks. The body and chassis are solid. The fenders have minor dings and dents from 65 years of touring. The vehicle was painted green about 30 years ago and has help protect the body from rust. There is a rust spot to the rear of the driver next to the fuel filler. Perhaps from too many years of "topping it up". The non-original but period correct XPAG engine has been overhauled in the past, bored out .040 over and the crank turned .010. We honed the cylinders and installed new rings. The engine itself shows minimal oil leaks for an English engine and no smoke to speak of. The engine received a major tune-up with new cap, rotor, points wires, etc. The oil was changed after the rings had been broken in. The radiator rubber hoses were all replaced. The engine now operates at about 80° Centigrade and 25# of oil pressure at idle. The fuel system has been totally flushed out. The fuel tank was removed and flushed and a new low fuel level sender was installed. The fuel lines and fuel pump were flushed. The carburetors were dissembled, cleaned and rebuilt. All the fluids in the transmission and rear end were drained and replaced with new. The hydraulic braking system has been completely overhauled with new master and wheel cylinders, new rubber brake hoses and new brake shoes. The handbrake system has new cables and works as should. The vehicle has a newer top and tonneau cover in excellent condition. There are no side curtains currently with the vehicle. The interior is in good condition. Upon further inspection it appears as if the original seat covers are underneath but the condition is unknown. A new battery has been installed along with a new generator and voltage regulator. The electrical systems were verified that they work properly, charging, lighting and other features such as horn and wipers. The cockpit has the optional heater installed. The fan has been verified as working and all the plumbing is there but not hooked into the radiator. All the instruments (Speedo, Tach, Ammeter, Oil Pressure and Temp) work as should. We have not wound the clock in the tach but guarantee that it is correct twice a day.Four new tires have been installed to provide a smooth ride. There is nothing required on this vehicle before it can be enjoyed. The vehicle is currently licensed with Antique Plates. It is a daily driver that will get you almost anywhere, albeit at 55 MPH. Here is an opportunity to have a unique vehicle to drive in the country to watch the leaves change and then if you desire have a manageable project over winter to restore it to a higher level for the Spring car shows. We have tried to provide as much information as possible with the description and photos. If there are other questions please contact us. As always it is strongly suggested that a personal inspection be arranged to help insure that this vehicle meets your expectations.

1950 MGTD Roadster great Original Barn Find Condition 1950 MG MGTD 2-Door Convertible Exterior Color: Green Interior Color: Tan Stock Number: PAG2739 Mileage: 95,288 Engine: 4 Cyl Fuel: Gasoline Transmission: 4 Speed Manual Warranty: As Is - No Warranty Title: Clear VIN: XPAG2739 53 Full-Size Photos Vehicle Features & Options Ask the Seller a Question Email this to a Friend Start Credit Application Vehicle Description Up for sale is this fantastic unrestored 1950 MGTD finished in traditional British green with tan interior. We just purchased this amazing example of an early MGTD with great heritage. It is a California car from new and has had just three owners. It was sold new at MG of San Francisco to a female medical student at Cal Berkeley. She ended up practicing in the San Francisco area. The second owner happened to be a neighbor of hers that told her when he was a teenager that someday he was going to "own that car". He eventually bought it from her in 1985. He kept it until it was sold to another San Francisco resident who was the third and final owner in 1988. The car has never been restored, other than one repaint many years ago and maintenance items, and runs like the proverbial TOP. You will be amazed and how solid this unrestored survivor is in every area. Over, under, around and through. It even has the original tools and MGTD "Midget" owner's handbook. The convertible top is many, many years old yet the rear window is amazingly clear and the car comes with the side curtains and full tonneau cover to boot. Take a close look at these photos and we thing you'll agree this is an exceptional find. It drives great, starting right up and purrs like a kitten. Lots of new interior parts come with it like new door panels, and side curtains. Be sure to call us at 317-669-0115 if you'd like to learn more. For Sale Buy It Now or Offer. This is the rarest of the TF series of MGs. It has the 1500 engine (XPEG3002). It is a great restoration project. Stored 25 years in dry storage. Has zero rust and zero wood rot. The body has been stripped with only the fenders and bolt on parts to take care of small dents. The car is complete(see exceptions below) and includes approximately $4000 thousand dollars worth of new, rebuilt and great used parts to complete the project. Odometer shows 63,671 miles which is believed to be original as is was off of the road for a large part of its life. I have owned the car for over 12 years and I hate to let it go but it has become clear I will not be able to finish it and it is too nice not to be restored. Some of the new parts included with the sale are:Front and rear bumpers and bumper guardsTan interior door panel and trim kitCloth wiring harnessExhaust systemClutchSeat cushionsFront Springs and other parts (front suspension has been rebuilt)Copper brake line setOuter door handlesFuel pumpTaillight kitInner tubesRubber kitPlus lots more new parts including some small parts, trim, screws, bolts, etc. Also included is a set of great used tan leather seat covers, tan canvas top, wheel cover, redone wire wheels and more. The only things that I remember as missing are the water temp gauge, the starter switch on the firewall and maybe an inner door latch. Most of the parts have been cleaned, some painted and ready to install. The fenders and body metal are in great shape with only a few dents to be removed. Everything except the large body parts are boxed and labeled. Because of the location of parts and the car, it was very hard to photograph them. Please ask any questions you may have. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will assist with loading. The loose parts will require about a pickup size contained bed and a trailer for the rolling body and frame. Pickup will have to occur by agreed schedule.

Fitted with larger 15" wheels, radial tires, and a mahogany dash, the car is a great handling machine ready to be pressed into immediate service. Service records and all tools accompany the car as well as tonneau cover, top boot, and nice windscreen so your spouse doesn't get her hair messed up on high speed drives. If you are looking for one of the best MGBs you can find, look no further! We have many more photographs of this car, please click on any image to be taken to our full-size image list! The MGB is a two-door sports car manufactured and marketed by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later British Leyland, as a four-cylinder, soft-top roadster from 1962 until 1980. Variants include the MGB GT three-door 2+2 coupé (1965–74), the six-cylinder roadster and coupé MGC (1967–69), and the eight-cylinder 2+2 coupé, the MGB GT V8 (1973–76). Replacing the MGA in 1962, production of the MGB and its variants continued until 1980, achieving sales for the MGB, MGC and MGB GT V8 combined of 523,836 cars. In structure the MGB was an innovative, modern design in 1962, utilizing a monocoque structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types and the MGB's rival, the Triumph TR series. However components such as brakes and suspension were developments of the earlier 1955 MGA with the B-Series engine having its origins in 1947. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard, and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. A parcel shelf was fitted behind the seats. The MGB achieved a 0–60 mph time of just over 11 seconds. The 3-bearing 1798 cc B-Series engine produced 95 hp at 5,400 rpm — upgraded in October 1964 to a five-bearing crankshaft. The majority of MGBs were exported to the United States. In 1975 US-market MGB engines were de-tuned to meet emission standards, ride height was increased by an inch , and distinctive rubber bumpers were fitted to meet bumper standards. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph impact with an immovable barrier. We replaced all gaskets in motor except head gasket - over $2400,00 was spent on parts from the gas tank to new tires, water pump, starter, electronic ignition, clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder, all hoses, battery, ignition wires, spark plugs. I have taken several short trips 30-40 miles, and always made it home. The worst thing about the car is the paint. It has been painted at least three times over its life, and I am not a body and fender man so I didn't attempt to hide the rust under trim on the rocker and wanted it to represent what it really is. I hope who ever purchases it, will finish it and give it a great home! -It is a 1970 MGBGT according to Serial number and the DMV. - I do not have the chrome bumpers. The bumpers were on the car when our family purchased it in the early 90's.

I bought this car over the winter as a fun little project to work on. Now that the weather has warmed up I have tons of other projects that need to get done (roof on the house, remodeling, etc). I dont really have time and need the money so the car has to go.About the car: Nice Paint (original?) Nice chrome. Very nice rims and almost new tires. Undercoated many years ago and is now starting to flake off. Actual mileage unknown. What I have done over the past five months: Interior: New front and rear seat upholstery. NEW FOAM and WEBBING as well...look and feel like new. Matching arm rest. New carpet. New stereo (pioneer w/bluetooth) and speakers. Engine: Cleaned and Rebuilt carbs (master rebuild kit). New exhaust rings (fixed exhaust leak). New side "tappet" cover (replaced the old leaky kind). Adjusted valves. New silicone valve cover gasket (replaced the very old cork gasket). New spark plugs. Valve adjustment.Exterior: Polish and wax paint. There are some rust spots that are under the paint but no flaking or crumbling. Took pictures of most paint flaws prior to polish and wax so you can know what to expect.I finished the install of interior a few weeks ago and have only driven around town and to work a few times. Starts, drives and runs well. I get a lot of looks and several people have approached me in parking lots to complement and ask questions about it. Not a show car but is a very respectable daily driver IMO.There are a few things still to do if I have time to get around to them. If not, you can do easily yourself.1. Re-Install seat belts2. Install 13 inch Moto Lita Steering wheel (already purchased)3. New door cards (NOT purchased yet) Comes with two sets of keys and some left over gaskets and Haynes repair manual. I have put a couple thousand $ into improvements and quite a few hours of work. I would personally value this car at around $7K but I know you never get what you think. Make an offer. Glad to answer any questions. Would like to sell soon, make an offer.
