It is a faithful tribute to one of the great MG racing cars, the 1968 MG CGTS "Sebring" racecar. The iconic UK registration number, RMO-699F, is reproduced on the hood of the CGT. That registration number is where the car gets its "Romeo" nickname. This particular example is equipped with triple Weber carburetors, knock-off style Minilite wheels, and a beautifully done Sebring style kit including the fenders, hood and rear valance. The engine was rebuilt during the restoration of the car back in the mid-1980's. The transmission is a four-speed manual with overdrive that shifts well and has no issues. Many little details, such as the switches and gauges being faithfully reproduced to that of the factory Sebring racers, the removable racing decals, and the vinyl wrapped sport seats among other things make this truly a special car. This would be a great long distance road or vintage rally car. For the price we are asking you could not replicate this wonderful example of a 1968 MG CGT Sebring replica. Back to Top CONTACT US 401.438.4444 email 1964 MG B VIN GHN3L28684 MILEAGE 73804 STOCK No #1096 TRANSMISSION 4 Speed Manual w/ Overdrive ENGINE 4 Cylinder EXTERIOR COLOR Red INTERIOR Black Description In 1962 the MGA, the car that had revolutionized the small displacement sports car, was starting to lose it's radical edge in an age of unprecedented automotive innovation. In response to waning popularity, the folks at Abingdon went back to the drawing board to recreate the magic of the MGA. The result was a car that was, once again, decades ahead of its time. The MGB was so timeless in its styling, design and performance that it endured, without major redesigns, until production ended 18 years later in 1980. Of all the MGBs that were ever produced, the most desirable model is undoubtedly the MGB Mk1. The Mk1 MGBs were the purest of the Bs , these cars left the factory unhampered by the safety regulations and minor styling changes that would muddle future iterations of the car. Mk1 MGBs retain their removable folding tops that stow neatly in the trunk, leaving the lines of the car clean throughout the passenger compartment straight to the back of the car. They feature the handsome pull-handle doors that make them easily recognizable from later models. Perhaps the most attractive element that sets the early MGBs aside from later models though is the metal dashboard that harkens back to one of the most attractive styling elements of the MGAs (US safety regulations mandated a pillow dashboard for cars produced after 1967). Mechanically, the formula of the MGA remained alive and well in the MGBs. The B series engine transitioned from one car to the next, although it was enlarged to 1789CC for use in the MGB. Redesigned front disc brakes made for more reliable stopping power. Most radical though was the use of unibody construction on the MGB, making for a much stronger and stiffer body that not only aided in rigidity going down the road, but also provided unprecedented safety in the event of a collision. Of the MGBs built, less than 20% had factory overdrive, making it a very rare option. Overdrive cars could easily reach and surpass the 100mph mark. This 1964 MGB Mk1 presented here is, unabashedly, the best Mk1 MGB for sale on the market today. It has just undergone a complete bottom up, nut and bolt restoration at a well known British car restoration shop in Florida. From top to bottom you will not find a better looking car. This is just about as nice as you can get for a car that you can still expect to drive on the road, as opposed to trailering it from show to show. The paint is gorgeous and has deep lustre to it. The body is straight, rust free, and not bondo-ridden like so many of these cars are. You can expect this car to hold up for years to come provided it is cared for properly. Underneath, the car looks just as nice as it does on the top-side. Mechanically the car idles well, starts right up (even in the cold). Going down the road the car is extremely solid. It tracks straight and does not wander, even on the highway at speed. The transmission is smooth and quiet. All the synchro's appear in good order as you would expect on a car that has just been rebuilt. Speaking of speed, with the overdrive unit the car is comfortable at 80mph and beyond. It can genuinely be used alongside modern cars. This is not one that you need to keep off of the freeways. All of the gauges and electrical components work as they should. It should be added that, although not pictured, this car also comes with a restored period correct fiberglass hardtop, as well as a black soft top and a black tonneau cover. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions whatsoever about this vehicle. Back to Top CONTACT US 401.438.4444 email 1959 MG A Race Car VIN 59159 MILEAGE 99999 STOCK No #1038 TRANSMISSION 4 Speed Manual ENGINE 4 Cylinder EXTERIOR COLOR Green INTERIOR Red Description MG cars have a well-documented, successful racing history especially the MGA's. Three MGA prototypes were entered at Le Mans in 1955, two of which finished the race placing 12th and 17th overall, definitively proving the worth of the new car. The MGA has been raced extensively in the U.S. since its introduction into the racing scene in 1955 and with considerable success. In Sports Car Club of America competition the MGA has won numerous regional and national championships and has been a long-time favorite choice for those competing in vintage racing. This MGA - #18 - boasts tremendous history of its own, having been a race car its entire life and having raced back in period at Limerock and other east coast tracks. The owner we purchased this car from had been racing #18 for many years. Oxford Motorcars campaigned #18 at the end of last season on the track as part of a team of four MGA race cars, which we run in various regional vintage events and it has been a great addition to our team. Though not a front-line car, performance-wise, it is a beautifully set up car and the perfect car for someone who is eager to start vintage racing. The car has awesome aluminum racing buckets in it and we completed the interior by installing a brand new carpet kit. We made a few small alterations to make sure the car was suitable for the road as well as the track. For example, we put a street exhaust on the car because it was simply too loud to drive on the road before. Now you can throw your kit in the passenger seat and drive the car to the track if you'd like, just like the old days. We decided in the off-season that, since #18 was our only coupe, we would prefer to have another roadster as the fourth car on our MGA team and now it is time for #18 to find a new home. This MGA underwent a frame-off restoration right before we bought it last year, completed over a 10 year period, and bears the dash plaques and stickers from the various events the car has been entered in. All numbers stickers on the car are removable. The car has a welded rear-end, rebuilt shocks, a new exhaust, aluminum racing seats, built, balanced motor with Venolia pistons, balanced rods, an aluminum flywheel, a mid range cam, valve spacers, side draft Weber carburetor, Tilton brake and pedal assembly, layer cord radiator, fuel cell all the essentials for going to the track, as-is, today. The paint on the car is absolutely phenomenal by vintage race standards, it is one of, if not the, nicest looking MGs at the track. The paint job is completely thorough and was completed by a professional. The interior comes with a brand new carpet kit already installed. The car has Minilite wheels fitted with Hoosier TD race tires which are fairly worn, but not completely shot. The car runs and drives very well and is truly a gem for anyone who wants to dabble in vintage races, and even for those novices with more serious competitive aspirations. You won't find a fun, reliable, ready-to-run race car, with a lifetime of racing history and recent restoration anywhere else.
