MODEL YEAR / TITLE: I listed this car as a 1953 MGTD on eBay last week but then found out that the car is actually a 1951 MGTD. The previous title erroneously stated 1953, but the error has been corrected and I have received a new title with the correct model year. Please be assured that I have the clear Florida title in hand and it states model year 1951, so there will be no problem with transferring or exporting the car. BODY / FLOORS / FRAME: You will see in the pictures that the body, frame and undercarriage are extremely solid with only surface rust where the paint has flaked away. The paint appears to be completely original, with the flaws that you would expect on such an original old car. The body appears to never have had any damage or repair work. MECHANICAL: The engine runs excellent, the clutch and brakes are good, and the transmission shifts through all the gears. The battery is good. The tires are very old but don’t leak. To the best of my knowledge, the engine and gearbox are original. INTERIOR / TOP: The convertible top and side curtains appear to be the original ones that came with the car. It only has the front side curtains and is missing the small rear ones. The interior was re-done several years ago by the previous owner and it is still very nice. ELECTRICAL: The lights and gauges are all working. I have not found any electrical issues except that it is missing the wipers and wiper motor. TITLE TRANSFER AND PAPERWORK: I am a long-time classic car hobbyist and licensed as a Florida car dealer (Classic Investment Motorcars Inc.) This means we must complete various sales and title transfer forms, which can be done in person or through the mail. DOCUMENTATION FEE: A flat fee of $100 is charged on all vehicle purchases to cover postage, preparing paperwork and forms, and other dealer costs. This fee cannot be waived. This fee applies regardless of whether you are an individual or a dealer. SALES TAX / TAG AND TITLE FEES: If you live in Florida or are personally picking up the car in Florida I am required to collect the applicable sales tax and tag/title fees. If the vehicle is shipped out of the U.S. or to another state by a freight company or common carrier I will not need to collect sales tax or tag and title fees (you will take care of that where you live.) DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: A $200 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance must be paid by cash, cashier’s check, or wire transfer within seven days of the end of the auction. All cashier’s checks must clear my bank before the vehicle can be released. If the winning bidder fails to pay in accordance with these requirements, I may, at my option, make second-chance offers or re-list/remarket the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited by the bidder.
