Small area of bubbling paint found at passenger rear quarter. Vinyl top shows no signs of damage. Interior Original interior is complete, seats show discoloration from sun and carpet is stained. Mechanical Engine starts easily and runs very well. Transmission shifts easily and no surprises from suspension, manual brakes or power steering. Headlight covers are not functioning and need to be manually opened and closed. This first-year Cougar has been owned by the same person since almost new (within a few years at the most) and has been well taken care of. presents well, both body and paint are in great condition with only one minor flaw in the paint. Power top is also in nice shape. Trim is original and shows some age and use. Magnum 500 wheels and tires are new. Front windows roll up correctly, rear windows as shown could use some additional fitting to close completely. One chip found in the windshield but is not spreading and does not obscure view of the road. Interior Seats, carpeting and door panels have been redone and are in great condition. Dash, gauges and steering wheel are original. Dash is cracked. Rear panel that joins the seat to trunk area is missing and there is a visible gap with top up. Mechanical 302 V8 engine was rebuilt at the time of restoration and sounds great through duel Flowmaster mufflers. Transmission, brakes and steering all work well. At lower RPMs, engine will “surge” suspect that throttle linkage needs adjustment. Drivers side door interior handle is not working. This is a nice example of a first-year Cougar convertible, Ford’s other pony car. Very nice Mercury Cougar, only 55,873 miles! Rust is minimal. Color: Brown Tan top is brand new. Paint is in great shape, chrome is great too! Purchased vehicle in Montana. Garaged for years. I have put in a new cam with new lifters. It's an Edelbrock, MSD distributor, MSD ignition box, msd coil. Manifold is Edelbrock, Edelbrock 4bbl, all new performance parts. Wires 8mm, water pump, full length hooker headers. Brand new exhaust all the way to the back, interior great, tires in great shape. Old school rims with the beauty rings 14 inch 9/10 int 8/10 ext the right side around the wheel well in the back of the lip needs a little attention. New gas tank and a new clutch fan all new hoses. Car is fast and nice looking. Glass is in great shape. All windows and turn signals work great! Serious inquiries. Please no test drives. I put a lot time and money in this car.
