OVERVIEW We are selling our 1965 Comet Convertible. This car is not original. My wife and I like unique cars. We really like the body style of the '65. We painted the car the color of a 1965 Cadillac blue, and redid the interior with real blue jeans. If you like blue, this is a great car for you. We have completely redone this car. The engine, transmission, front end, rear end, brakes, interior, top… there is nothing on this car that hasn't been replaced, touched or reworked. But it's not perfect. There is a small rust spot on the front bumper, and few small flaws in the paint. It doesn't have a radio, because I didn't want to cut the side panels for speakers. I didn't install the new original dash pad; I like it better without it, but the new uninstalled dash pad goes with the car. There are a lot of little things that we did that we don't have time to mention… but I'll mention this one: when we had the quarter panels off, we put channels to direct water out the back from the convertible top (instead of directing the water out the fender wells, which usually rusts the car). The frame was reinforced to handle the V8 engine. Here are some more details below.  INTERIOR It has a custom sewn blue jeans interior, which theme is carried over into the trunk (used overalls, including the usable pockets) and the convertible boot. New carpet. The air conditioning is from Classic Auto Air with the polished compressor upgrade. This is an in-dash a/c system (not a box that hangs down). It has a new black convertible top, and reworked open and close mechanism. It has been garaged after the restoration work has been done. It has a new Retro instrument panel and harness. MECHANICAL Mexican block Hi-Po 289 with 69 Windsor heads. The engine was professionally rebuilt. Bored 30 over; I have all the specs on the engine if you'd like to see it. Raptor Level 2 Dominator Junior Overdrive Transmission Quicksilver shifter New aluminum radiator New brakes all around; new drums, lines, etc Rebuilt front end New gears in rear end New exhaust New custom headers, exhaust, Mellowtone mufflers New power steering  NOTES As stated above, there are a few flaws in the paint and chrome, nothing major. I had a stroke three years ago, and I have not driven this car much since we finished it, other than to start it occasionally and drive around the parking lot. No use letting it sit here; it needs someone to drive it. I have some of the original parts that will go with it if you want it.

See this Comet better and even run at YouTube with these links pasted in your address link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC6GqAhOrX4&feature=youtu.be www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzaCendcpQ4&feature=youtu.be Top down C-Code Comet with 289, power steering and 4-speed. Runs good. Engine is 289 4V Holley with 4-speed toploader and Hurst shifter. Originally Turquoise paint color with C-Code 289 2V with C4 automatic, power steering and factory AM radio. Has an aluminum Edelbrock intake, Cobra valve covers, good dual exhaust, good headers, large 1-inch front sway bar, 8-inch rear and nice interior. Top works as does lights, wipers, blinkers and heater fan. Motor sounds beautiful with good oil pressure and no smoke. Barn fresh with solid, straight body. This car was tastefully restored and put away for years. I flushed the old gas and drove this car today. All gears engaged smoothly. New ignition switch and key cylinder just installed. Good clutch but clutch pedal sticks down (bushing needs oil) slightly and so does the throttle so needs some love but solid car with much of the hard work done. Brakes are a little locked up (needs new wheel cylinders) from sitting, but drivable to load on trailer. Steering feels good and car steers straight. Nice original glass. Doors close good. Body looks real good and straight except minor rust driver rear quarter (see video) and dent on top of driver front fender (see video). Undercarriage looks rust free (see video). Cowl leaks some water. Everything works except AM radio and horn. Passenger door panel sticks when you open that door. Passenger door window stuck in up position and needs oil. Clean factory apron VIN stamp and sweet original driver door data tag. This is a nice, solid and unique hotrod convertible that needs cleaning, brake work and love. Ready for new owner and fun. Sold "as is". Call for more info Rick (301) 779-0114. Buyer responsible for shipping cost and I will help load thanks.
