Hello, What I have here is an original 1951 Mercury 2 door Convertible (yes a true Convertible). The body is sitting on the original frame. The front window frame has been chopped 2 inches. Also, I still have the 2 original window frames peace's which were cut out if someone wanted to put it back on. The head lights have been Frenched in. As you can see from the pic's the floor and trunk floor have been cut out. It needs new floors put in. It also has fat man suspension, rack pinion, chrome front coil springs, polished control arms, on the original Convertible frame. It's been in my heated garage for 11 years out of the weather. The only reason why I'm selling it is because just like every other car guy out there, you buy too many projects, and then you're selling one to complete the other project. So eeny-meeny-miny-moe the 51 has to go! I'm not looking for trades because I have enough projects to finish. This is 1 of 6,759 made in 1951, and who knows how many are still out there today? 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7 in very good condition. 289, upgraded 4 valve Holley carburetor, automatic transmission shifts smoothly, interior in good shape. All instrumentation panel work with the exception of the radio and interior clock. Also rear blinkers not working properly may need to be rewired. Body in good shape barely any rust underneath no visible rust. Paint looks great from ten feet away but could really use a new paint job there are noticeable chips in paint. Car was originally Sage gold . Car originally equipped with factory installed A/C, but it doesn't work, although all a/c components still there. May just need Freon. Car still a head turner. Can be driven as is or someone can put a little extra TLC into it and make it look great. Obviously it is a 50 year old car so please ask questions. I will take additional pictures upon request.
