Back in 1963, Mercury was in the thick of Nascar Racing and needed an aerodynamic body style to compete with the Fords, Chevys, Dodges and Plymouths of that era. Thus the 1963 1/2 Mercury Marauder Fastback was born. Most of these cars found their way to the speedway, but this Texas car escaped, and is in it's original condition. This car has always been stored indoors and it shows. This Mercury has only 65,000 original miles on its 390 C.I. V8 engine and Cruise-O-Matic transmission. The brakes have been converted to front disc with a dual master cylinder in the interest of safety. It starts, runs and drives very nice. The paint is all original two tone and is in great condition showing only minimal wear and tear for its age. This car has no rust. The interior is factory vinyl and is in excellent condition including the dash, headliner and carpet. All instrumentation is intact and fully functional. Recently we had the front and rear bumpers rechromed and installed new dual exhaust. This car is truly a piece of american history and has been well preserved over the years. I am selling this for my son, who bought it to add to his collection, but has now decided he wants to just stick to restoring pick ups. It is a very nice car and runs great and very smooth ride. I listed everything here that he told me to,but if you have questions just ask me, and I will get back to you. i am also including in the pictures a copy of the NADA that shows what this car in the average retail listing actually could go for. I am asking below the total price of $8600 it says I should sell it for. well here goes, 1974 RX7..39,000 Original miles 2 door. Automatic on column. It has a 351 cleveland longblock, V8, 2 barrel carb, cruise,ac.. Has newer tires, new alternator, belts, new battery (put in last year before car was put b in storage) and new distributor magnet. it in storage for about a year and started right up.. the car does have some fraying on the arm rest, and very minumal amount of rust. the engin is in sound condtion and as said previous, it did start right up , even after sitting in shed for a year. while there is very minimal things that need fixed, it is otherwise in very good condition for its age, and the miles are original, so very low miles for this year of car. thank you for looking...
