Up for sale...this unique one of a kind custom sled...1955 Mercury Monterey 2-door hardtop. Top has been chopped 5 1/2", stretched 6", features a custom 1950 tinted rear Mercury window hand formed opening by Matt Bailey at Mad Hatter Customs who did a lot of work on this car. Bumpers have been reconditioned and are Nickel plated as well as rear taillight housings. Car has been dropped in rear with Jamco leave springs and blocks, front coils are lowered, new bushings up front, disc brakes done, tranny rebuilt, runs the original 3-speed Merc-O-Matic, the motor is freshly rebuilt with about 300 miles..it's the original 292 Y block, bored .30 over, thumper comp cam, 312 intake with a 4 barrel eddlebrock carb, electronic iginition, new radiator, 4-stack custom velocity stacks peaking out of hood, cherry bombs on the exhaust with custom ghost outlets, custom tailight lenses made by Johnny Smith, License plate hides in back deck so it goes up and down with toggle switch on drivers seat, Goodyear wide whites, Cragar 69 deluxe custom wheels with Mooneyes spider caps, custom Aluminum crowns on valve stems from Paul Yaffe, chopped windshield glass, custom black chrome skull headlights, custom skull and cross bones steering wheel, shaved door handles and trunk, lizard skin insulation inside, 4 custom bomber seats, rebuilt steering box, custom skull hand mirrors outside, recently painted hot rod Flatz Black Cherry Pearl in a matte finish.. and more...many many hours of labor and cost to get to this level...more needs to be done but car is turn key and drives good..... This Sled is a real head turner, gets a lot of looks and thumbs up, has won multiple trophies..not for paint, engine or interior but because it has the WOW factor of cool...so many people love this car and all the girls wanna take pictures with it...this is a great investment if your looking for a bad ass Sled to drive.
