1994 Mercury Capri XR2 Convertible 2-Door 1994 Mercury Capri XR2 Convertible 2-Door 1.6L

This is a very rare car. The XR2 has a sport suspension, turbocharger, and spoiler package, not found on the base model. Only 366 were produced and as few as 150 remain in the world. It is extremely dependable. It has the 1.6 liter Mazda engine with four valves/cylinder, dual overhead cams, and intercooled turbocharger. It runs strong and smooth and uses no oil. The 5 speed transmission shifts like new. The clutch is very good as well. The condition is good. I would drive it anywhere. The tires and struts have less than 1,000 miles on them. It has after market wheels, but comes with the factory rims that are in very good condition. Included is a factory hard top with factory storage cart. The soft top is like new and works perfectly. The heater blows hot and the A/C is very cold. The 1994 Capri was the first year that used R134 refrigerant. Although, I've never had to add any in the 10+ years that we've owned it. The pop up headlights, power locks/windows, stereo, gauges all work good. The battery is less than one year old. The cruise control stopped working last fall. I don't know what the issue is. The air bag light recently came on as well. It has a clear Kansas title. I have used AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 as long as I've owned it. Selling as is with no warranty. The worst part on the cougar are the lower rear quarters. Floor board is solid. Appear to have all origional interior and is complete. Headliner is down and dash pad needs repaired. Drivers seat has some wear spots, the rest of the seats and door panels are good with no tears. Full console. Headlight assemblies will be a separate unit and is a complete front end as seen in pictures. It will make a good car to restore as it has always been stored inside.

Vehicle come with extra doors, hood, trunk lid, new carpet, new windshield and assorted other extra and spare parts. . Transmission has never given me any problems. It is a factory air conditioning car and all parts are there but it does not work I am selling to make room for other projects. The pictures will show what has been done and what needs to be done is as described. The tires are good, the hide-away headlamps work and the sequential turn signals work well. The original motor and points system for the turn signals works and were re-built last year. Trunk has been re-done and the gas tank is a year old. The front suspension and steering has also been re-built and the car goes down the road very well. The original 289 was gone when I bought car but there is a very strong 302 in its place and the transmission work well.Vehicle come with extra doors, hood, trunk lid, new carpet, new windshield and assorted other extra and spare parts. The rear springs, shocks and all the brakes have been re-built and work very well. This is a project car and I am just selling to make room. Have driven car to local shows and it does very well on highway. The vehicle needs the cowl panel, floors and frame rails re-done. All common problems for the Cougars and Mustangs of the day. Parts are available, just don't have room right now and don't want to see car outside over the winter. Any questions will be answered as best as I can. Shipping is to be paid by buyer.
