For sale is a 2002 Freightliner Sprinter diesel van that has been converted into a food truck and catering vehicle. These vehicles are actually produced Mercedes-Benz and rebranded as Freightliner or Dodge. Clear Texas title. The vehicle: This Sprinter only has 151,000 miles. I am the second owner and bought it June 2013 with 138,000 miles (these are commercial vehicles that are known to run for 500,000+ miles, so plenty of life left!). The original owner was a plumber who bought it new from Freightliner, had all the regular maintenance performed by the dealer, and took great care of it. I have also taken great care of it for the last two years, replacing the tires, fuel filter, air filter, turbo hose, and performing regular oil changes. If you don't want to use it as a food truck I may be willing to remove the kitchen equipment, just message me. Last year the chip in the remote key fob stopped communicating with the engine computer properly, preventing me from starting the van. After much research into this problem, I bought a custom engine tune (new computer) that bypasses the electronic component of the ignition system. Now she starts every time and runs even better than before because the engine tune adds horsepower and fuel economy, adding 2-3 mpg (these are very efficient engines that can get 25+ mpg on the highway). There is a minor but noticeable scrape on the left side (caused by a hit and run) that could be improved with touch-up paint. The rear bumper is bent in the middle (rear-ended by a teen driver), could be removed and hammered back into place or just replaced if it's important to you. The van was originally white and I hired a freelance auto painter to paint it lime green. I'll be honest, he did not do a great job, so there are some imperfections. However, due to branding and personal preference, I assume that the next owner will want to repaint or wrap it anyway. If you love the color that's great! Overall this vehicle is in great mechanical condition, and just has a few cosmetic flaws. The kitchen: I custom-built this kitchen up to code for the city of Austin and Travis County. 30 gallon fresh water tank mounted to the roof and 42 gallon grey water tank inside. Custom-built 3 compartment sink and hand washing sink. Propane compartment fits a standard 20 pound propane tank. Propane on-demand water heater. Kenmore brand propane oven and stove combo. Whirlpool brand upright refrigerator and freezer combo (I took it out of van to deep clean, but it goes to the right of the sinks). Two sliding service windows. Outside panel between service windows is painted with chalkboard paint for a menu. Depending on your particular set-up there is enough room to add an extra counter, or even a prep table. I sold fresh wraps and breakfast tacos and really enjoyed running this business for a little while, but my love for healthy eating has grown into a passion for food production and gardening, so I'm no longer interested in running this business. My loss is your gain! This food truck is PERFECT for a highly mobile operation, travelling event vendors, or catering. Very easy to drive and great fuel economy! Also great for more permanent locations (food courts/bars/etc). Could also make an awesome conversion van RV or work van. Asking $12,000, but I will consider all serious offers! Feel free to message me with any question! tags: food trailer, dodge, mercedes, bug out, motorhome, camper, cater, recreational vehicle, work van
