ENGINE RUNS GREAT! LOT RUNS/DRIVES !ALL AIRBAGS GOOD ! As seen in the pictures down below this nice looking 2001 Mercedes SLK230 Hard Top Convertible has light front and rear end damages. This vehicle was directly purchased from insurance auctions for resale in the condition you see it on the pics. No middle man involved. We have the salvage certificate of title (no-liens) at hand and ready to transfer to the new owner. Such vehicles can be legally returned back to the roads after repairs and your state motor vehicles inspection. Damaged areas are clearly shown in the pictures below. Looks like it was rear ended high above the rear bumper assembly and directly to the rear trunk lid. Rear frame rails looks straight. The rear trunk lid is out of position and does not lock properly. Top did not open at the time of testing and its most likely due to the rear trunk lid being out of position. Front end has very light damage. Front cooling components (radiator, condensor, fans, etc) all look good and we did not observe any leaks. All airbags are good. All glass good. The good news is that the car starts, engine runs great, goes into gear and we are able to drive it around within our lot. Engine runs great. Many used parts available either here on ebay or at online junk yard website car-part.com. Looks like it was rear ended high above the rear bumper assembly and directly to the rear trunk lid. Rear frame rails looks straight. The rear trunk lid is out of position and does not lock properly. Top did not open at the time of testing and its most likely due to the rear trunk lid being out of position. Front end has very light damage. Front cooling components (radiator, condensor, fans, etc) all look good and we did not observe any leaks. All airbags are good. All glass good. The good news is that the car starts, engine runs great, goes into gear and we are able to drive it around within our lot. Engine runs great. Exterior damages are clearly shown in the pictures below.It was sold as a flood vehicle but we have not noticed any signs of water damage with this vehicle. No water signs and no smells inside. Looks like it was more of a vandalized vehicle rather then water damaged one. Most of the front end exterior body parts and doors were keyed. All headlights/taillights/glass in tact. Front grille is missing in action. No damage noticed to the interior. No damage under the hood due to vandalism but we've noticed the water pump needs replacement as its making noise and is leaking coolant.The good news is that the car starts, engine runs great, goes into gear and we are able to drive it around within our lot. Engine runs normal. Power convertible top did not open at the time of testing. Looks like the hydraulic pump started to leak fluid which is very common on this model of hard top slk's. We seen many similar slks with hydraulic fluid leak on top of the roof. This is most likely the cause of the top not working. Top will not work w/o any fluid in the system. The leak is usually at the top under the roof liner (see roof liner photo with signs of fluid leak). We have posted pictures of the hydraulic pump in the trunk with no fluid inside (see photo toward the end of the list of photos down below). Overall it should be an easy fixer with mostly paint work and light mechanical work. Overall good condition of the car indicates the mileage to be true and again engine runs great! Such vehicles can be legally returned back to the roads after repairs and your state motor vehicles inspection. Exterior damages are clearly shown in the pictures below. It was sold as a flood vehicle but we have not noticed any signs of water damage with this vehicle. No water signs and no smells inside. Looks like it was more of a vandalized vehicle rather then water damaged one. Most of the front end exterior body parts and doors were keyed. All headlights/taillights/glass in tact. Front grille is missing in action. No damage noticed to the interior. No damage under the hood due to vandalism but we've noticed the water pump needs replacement as its making noise and is leaking coolant. The good news is that the car starts, engine runs great, goes into gear and we are able to drive it around within our lot. Power convertible top did not open at the time of testing. Looks like the hydraulic pump started to leak fluid which is very common on this model of hard top slk's. We seen many similar slks with hydraulic fluid leak on top of the roof. This is most likely the cause of the top not working. The leak is usually at the top under the roof liner (see roof liner photo with signs of fluid leak). We have posted pictures of the hydraulic pump in the trunk with no fluid (see photo toward the end of the list of photos down below). It should be an easy fixer with mostly paint work and light mechanical work. Overall good condition of the car indicates the milage to be true and again engine runs great! Front cooling components are out of position but radiator still holds fluid and most front end cooling components should be reusable. We ran the car for several minutes and did not observe any leaks. All airbags are ok. All glass ok. The rest of the body is in good condition with light scratches and few dings. The good news is that the car starts, engine runs great, goes into gear and we are able to drive it around within our lot. Power convertible top opens/closes fine with the push of a button.
