Car doesn't fit my life style. . .and an SUV does; so that's what I had to get to replace the car.I've had this car for 3 years and it's been such a pleasure; when it comes to luxury cars, you just can't beat a Benz big body. It's a 2001 S500 with 102,783 miles on it.I purchased it when it had 65,000 miles.When I purchased it, I did extensive research to see what things usually go wrong with S class benzs. After doing so, I went to town. . ..spared no expense. I wanted to own a benz that was totally trouble free. I've spent about $5,000 on maintenance/upgrades/restorations. Here's a list of everything that the car has had done to it:All new linkages, bushings, A-arms and steering/suspension associated parts on front end.New suspension air pump and relayNew front air shocksNew motor and transmission mountsBrakes (done at 80,000 miles)Transmission service (done at 85,000 miles)New tires (Uniroyal Tiger Paws) and alignment (front tires and alignment done at 95,000 miles and rear tires done at about 85,000 miles)In addition to all that, Mobil One synthetic oil and filter changes every 5000 miles (just did about 1,000 miles ago).Car drives, handles and feels like new (and smells that way too).I think this is by far one of the cleanest, best shape S500s available (in this year range).It has a couple of cosmetic blemishes (hey, it's a 2001 daily driver. . ..you can't expect absolute perfection.
