Overview: This black 2004 Mercedes E320 Wagon is my current daily driver, with a little over 81,700 miles. The transmission still shifts smoothly and the ride is comfortable. In May 2015, the car received the following new parts: new headlight assemblies, new shocks, new rotors, brake pads, new wheels, two new tires, rain baffle for windshield, new battery (not installed but included), oil filter, oil, engine air filters, cabin air filter and compressor air filter. The last official visit to the dealer occurred in 2013, under the previous owner. As shown in the pictures included, there is minor driver-side door damage that has made a minor crease in the metal, as well as driver-side rear quarter panel body work. These elements of damage, which occurred under the previous owner, are not very visually evident. Only after close examination would you notice the door crease, as it follows the contour of the body, and the rear quarter panel is indistinguishable after a waxing (though there is a slight gap between the rear tail light and that panel). None of these discrepancies appeared on Carfax when I purchased it. Video of quarter panel below. The Interior: The interior of the car is very clean and intact, including clean ashtrays (Non-Smoker vehicle) and rear tailgate privacy guard. The driver seat has a minor tear (shown), and the rest of the seats are mint. The sunroof opens and closes properly, though the sun guard has come off the track and has torn. I usually leave it retracted, making it unnoticeable. Both front seats electronics work flawlessly, including the seat memory controls for up to three drivers. There is an auxiliary jack or phones/ipod in the glove compartment. A mini velcro adhesive was added just above the glove box for an aftermarket 3.5mm Bluetooth adapter, which is included. The rear retractable privacy guard no longer automatically rises when the tailgate opens. This stopped working under my ownership, and I believe there's a minor adjustment required. The 6-Disc audio system works well and sounds great. The only issue is that the center channel speaker seems to have dried out and will wine with certain frequencies, but I have a replacement that can be included. The rugs are pretty clean (especially rear passenger) and can cleaned before pickup. The glove box keyhole has some scratches on it (shown) The rear seat belts are slightly discolored from years of being touched. The hidden bottoms of the rear seats are stained, as if someone spilled something on them, which is only visible when the seats are folded up. The area is not sticky, and occurred under the previous owner. Exterior: Beyond the minor damage mentioned in the overview, the exterior still looks great and responds well to waxing. There's minor road rash associated with the vehicles age near the front headlights (shown). There are minor scuffs on the area underneath the rear loading bay from normal wear and tear Both rear view mirrors need cosmetic rubber gaskets, and are currently brittle and cracked (shown). This vehicle still looks contemporary and turns heads some 11 years later. The under body is rust-free, as is originated in California. Performance: The car has received nothing below premium 93 since my ownership. The engine is smooth and acceleration is linear. Potential Future Maintenance: The only issue that is inconsistent is an aging, rubber transmission isolation mount that will need replacement soon. Because of this, on cold days, the transmission produces a rumble felt within the vehicle cabin when cold. A proper computer diagnosis has been performed, eliminating the possibility of the engine producing this occasion rumble, as well. That OEM part sells for about $80-120. Currently, the vehicle is indicating that a brake job should be completed soon, but braking remains smooth. Most likely 50% brake pads left. The SBC battery (a separate battery for the brake system, backed up by a conventional hydraulic system) has not been replaced under my ownership, and should receive servicing in the next 6 months.
