It's current owner is it's third, and documentation from the initial purchase shows this 280SL was loved from the start to it's present time. The current owner had the engine and transmission rebuilt just to name a couple highlights. This 280 comes with a full tool kit, all original owners manuals and supplements including stampings in the maintenance booklet. Everything works including the Air Conditioning system. The radio was installed later in life however it's current owner kept the 280SL dash plate that used to cover the opening. Also included is the trouble light which plugs into the cigarette lighter for nighttime illumination. FULL service records and documentation. Records show that the odometer has turned over one time. This low mileage car is a perfect example of how well this style has stood the test of time. The car runs perfectly, handles solidly, and everything works as it should. I purchased it from the second owner in 2006 with 10,000 miles on the odometer. All services were done by Mercedes dealers and qualified shops. During my ownership all service has been at our local Mercedes Dealer. I have all the records including build sheet and window sticker. When this car was made the designers said to the engineers, “Build it as if you were building it for yourselves, and let the price come later.” That is why this car had a window sticker showing a total price with options of $81,745.00 in 1995. Michelin Primacy tires show 8/32nds tread. Includes original, never mounted, rear wind deflector. I get 27MPG on the highway. No accidents at all. It is rare to see this style anymore. Only 3676 of these convertibles were imported to the US for the 1995 model year. This one has the optional ASC traction control.
