Vehicle is in good condition and will pass inspection. Defects are: slight dings on LF and RF door, small cosmetic rust bubble on bottom or driver's door and on left side of sunroof. One rear Parktronic sensor fell inside the bumper but is still present. The wear on the paint and interior is minimal and consistent with age and mileage. Modifications: Headlights were updated to the 2003 version and custom imported harness were installed to make the headlights operate properly. It's wired into both front SAMs, with wires terminating in connectors with open positions. No mod wiring is visible all cloth wrapped and hidden. Headlights are Bosch bi-xenon not plug and play aftermarket. Tail lights were changed to the 2003 version, taillights are OEM ULO not aftermarket. Mirror covers were changed to an updated design and wired into the mirror frame harness with 3M weather-tite shrink wrap. Exterior mirrors have downlights that work when the door is opened. All updates and repairs done professionally, MB master technician shop owner is vehicle owner. Interior and seats in good condition, black on black. Mats are a few years old. Headliner and visors blue grey suede. Dash has visible top stitching, the interior of a S600 is original and distinguishes itself from anything seen in an S500 or S430. Truly a very special car. Center rear arm rest w/ cupholder is stock on the S600. Central locking functions. Seats have heat and ventilation both front and rear. The front seats have memory and the rear seats recline. Rear headrests can be powered folded in both directions. A/C blows cold, and heat operates. Sunroof works properly. All lights and horn function. Audio and CDC operate normally, sound is clear from all sources. Vehicle has tire pressure monitors but that system was switched off. To have it working replace all the tire monitor transmitters and turn it back it back on w/ SDS in ICM. Probably not worth it if you check your tires regularly. Teleaid is turned off. Vehicles prior to 2004-2005 have analog phones and Teleaid transmitters. This technology is not supported. (Teleaid is a phone based system that offers the driver support in the event of an accident or breakdown, it requires a yearly subscription and typically isn't used. No warning messages, recent B service. Runs and idles smoothly, drives with no vibrations or noise at any speed. Below is a list of repairs done. Fuel and engine air filters replaced at 85k Brake fluid was just flushed, needed every 2yrs B service, w/ 229.5 MB grade oil and filter, wipers and cabin filter just done. Radiator and cooling fan replaced at 100k. Both of these items are common on this vehicle and expensive to repair. Coolant was flushed and MB coolant is installed. Front pads and disks are new, less than 2k on the brakes. The oil cooler (oil separator) in the area between the heads was replaced at 83k with a new part. The original part always leaks and is expensive to replace since both heads must come off. A/C compressor & drier and ABC pump both replaced when oil cooler was done, ABC line that goes over the back of the engine that cannot be replaced unless the heads are off or the engine is out of the car was also replaced at the same time. ABC was flushed and filters changed. Plugs can coil boots done at 83k Both coil packs @ $1550 each have been replaced with new, both less than 5k on them. Wheels have a staggered 18 setup, the wheels have the stock polished edge and have not been painted silver. No bent wheels. Tires have more than 50% left, rear are newer and the front have some sight dry rot cracks but are otherwise okay. Transmission was last serviced at 83k and its recommended every 60k. Transmission is smooth and no shift issues. Engine mounts are new, idle is very smooth you can't tell it's running sometimes. The ABC pressure accumulator was replaced at 85k, ABC vibrations and hum will result if this is overlooked. Vehicle has been professionally detailed yearly and driven regularly. Cupholder in the armrest is $500 was replaced and works properly. The original buttons on the steering wheel decompose over time getting sticky, these were replaced. The belt and all idler pulleys and tensioner were replaced when one was failing about a year ago. The water cooled alternator was replaced at 95k. Mercedes battery is installed and 3 yrs old, typically they last 6yrs or more. Front lower control arm bushings have been replaced w/ updated design, Car runs and drives beautifully, all systems work. Well maintained and all of the problem areas have been addressed. A special car, if you are looking for a S600 don't let this one get away. A set of 17" winter tires on Mercedes CL500 wheels is available for an additional $700. The second set of wheels is not included in the BIN price. This car is RWD was seldom driven in the winter but w/ snow tires mounted will drive better in the snow than any 4matic w/ all season tires. 2 remote keys will be supplied Please email any questions you may have. Great shape Mercedes Benz 380SL Hardtop convertible ready for summer cruising ready. Turn the key and go. Who doesn't love a Mercedes Benz roadster. I put a lot of time and work into this car recently and hate to let it go, but it needs to go to someone who has a passion for these cars and will drive it. Owning two antique cars doesn't work for me, so I am selling this one as I rarely drive it.This car is road ready to go. I purchased this car in Florida from an elderly person that had had it since it was 2 years old. The car was solid, but had been rarely driven the last 10 to 15 years due to the owners age. Previous maintenance on this car was done at Mercedes Benz of Fort Lauderdale or Palm Beach. This car is a great handling roadster whether on the winding, twisting roads of the Berkshires & Vermont or flying down a Turnpike. The car has always been garaged since coming up from Florida. The interior shows well for its age no cracks or tears. Has the (rare for this year car) heated seats, all gauges and dash lights work. Dash-cover car has some waves from sun. Paint is a good driver quality. I have shown 1 of the wheels and all 4 wheels are clean and free of scrapes (Great shape for age). Body has no rust, dings or scratches. Car is all original. When I replaced items I used original parts or OEM; even tune up parts. Glass is good for its age, no cracks or major pits. Radio is original AM/FM-tape. Tires have good tread, but are at least 7 years old. The removable Hardtop Carrier and Cover will be included in the sale I welcome inspections prior to purchase.
