This is a re-listing, as the year was originally listed incorrectly. In addition, since this is my first time as an ebayer, I initially recieved a message from ebay stating "Your item did not sell" and I made arrangements to re-list. THIS IS OFFERED AT BELOW BLUE BOOK VALUE!!!!!!!!!!! As I stated in the first listing.... I am a 'New" E-Bayer. No worries, though - I can ASSURE YOU I am NOT some SCAM ARTIST! Im a nurse, with very little time to shop online, much less sell online- so yes, its my first time selling here, and Yes- you can actually trust me. :) AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE DETAILED REPORT, THERE HAVE NEVER BEEN ANY ACCIDENTS IN SIXTEEN YEARS! ----NOR HAVE THERE EVER BEEN ANY LIENS, LOANS, ETC (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ONE WHEN IT WAS BOUGHT AND FINANCED WHEN BRAND NEW) For sale is my 3rd owner Mercedes Benz SLK230. CORRECTION FROM ORIGINAL LISTING - THIS IS A 1999, NOT A 1998. Owner 1: cardiac surgeon -sold at 24k miles to Owner 2: His son-in-law and elite school headmaster who - sold to ME at 48k miles and Owner 3: me! (I'm a neurosurgical nurse), selling at 68k miles. Car was regularly serviced A/B alternating services at the Mercedes Benz dealer. I haven't taken it for service A yet as I havent needed to, and havent had any issues - I dont drive it everyday., NO PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE. NONE. ZIP. ZERO. ZILCH IT IS STRONG, AND RUNS OUTSTANDING. EXTERIOR IS PRISTINE WITH ONLY THE TINIEST IMPERFECTIONS.... INTERIOR HAS THE USUAL, (and almost certain for all same models) Mercedes Benz 'first and second generation' issues - NONE of which are mechanical. These things are MORE than common, and are essentially material engineering flaws in which Mercedes is the culprit-not a reflection of the treatment or upkeep by the owners. Usual issues with interior: Ignition key plastic housing ALWAYS CRACKS. (Mine did, relacement plastic found online, for 23.92) Outside mirrors ALWAYS HAVE ruptured LCD liquid in them (since they are auto dimming-and there was a major flaw in the mirrors used for the SLK, affecting over 300,000 owners. ) I've already replaced them. 'Rubberized interior paints " were a HORRIBLE GERMAN MANUFACTURING DECISION FOR AN AUTO INTERIOR, AND MOST SLK'S BEGAN TO CHIP, SCRATCH OFF, OR COMPROMISE in some manner. It was incredibly aggravating and I took the liberty of just using a glossy black interior paint to cover up the awful red lacking spots! Literally thousands of Mercedes owners were PISSED, BUT MERCEDES HAD NEVER MADE IT A RECALL....my suggestion would be to pull out the old odometer area housing and just replace the plastics - about 147.50 online - price reflects such). ANOTHER COMMON FLAW: THE MIDDLE GAUGE ILLUMINATION PANELS' BULBS BURN OUT QUICK. AS MINE DID. I HAVE THE BULBS TO REPLACE THEM (THIS IS A SIMPLE EASY CHEAP REPAIR). There are other common issues, but luckily I have not experianced any of them. I have heard things like the door handles, the electric top, etc - but thank GOD I havent had any of that....it's ALL AESTHETIC INTERIOR related, and the buyer should be prepared to invest in new plastic anyway - you'd have this SAME problem with ANY slk230 1998-1999, or 2000. Plastic needs to be redone and when it is, this car will literally be in MINT condition. SEATS ARE PICANTE RED AND BLACK RACING STRIPED LEATHER AND ARE IN PRISTINE CONDITION. ALL MANUALS AND hard top NETTING ETC. IS WITH THE CAR AND INTACT. all of these are Simple aesthetic REPAIRS, COMMON AND NOTORIOUS for MB SLK230's, and EVERY SINGLE 1998-1999 mb SLK230 YOU COME ACROSS WILL EITHER HAVE IT now, OR HAVE HAD IT IN THE PAST AND IT WAS REPLACED BY ITS OWNER, OR WILL HAVE IN THE FUTURE - -BANK ON IT. I PROMISE. Keep in mind, this car is SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD , AND HAS 68K MILES ON IT....INSANE! YOU COULD NOT FIND A BETTER MECHANICALLY MAINTAINED 1998 SLK230 ANYWHERE. THE FIRST OWNER WAS A CARDIAC SURGEON WHO GAVE IT UP AT 24k MILES DUE TO A HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY THAT PREVENTED HIM FROM SHIFTING. HE SOLD IT TO HIS SON-IN-LAW - WHO KEPT IT FOR ABOUT 25K MILES, LOVED MERCEDES SO MUCH, AND WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A G-CLASS - LISTED THIS FOR SALE, AND I BOUGHT IT. I'VE HAD IT SINCE 49K MILES. I HAVE OWNED MB IN THE PAST, AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN THE MOST RELIABLE CARS IVE EVER HAD. THIS IS MY VERY FAVORITE. I ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY AM IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR - AND YES - I CRIED ABOUT HAVING TO SELL IT. I'M PHYSICALLY ILL OVER IT. BUT I HAVE TO. AND I KNOW THAT IF I DO, AND I AM SUCCESSFUL, I WILL BE ABLE TO BUY ANOTHER - KEEP THE FAITH AND WORK HARD - I'LL BE BACK, MERCEDES!!! I AM SELLING IT BECUASE I AM TRYING DESPERATELY TO SECURE THE REMAINING FUNDING AND INVESTMENTS FOR MY MEDICAL DEVICE COMPANY - IN WHICH I CREATED A PATENTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE, AND HAVE SINCE PATENDED IT, AND NOW NEED THE MONEY TO PUT INTO THE PROTOTYPING AND MARKETING OF THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. ALL REAL. ALL HONEST. ALL TRUE. IT WAS 52 THOUSAND DOLLARS WHEN PURCHASED NEW AND HAS ONLY SEEN 68K MILES WORTH OF Life. IT'S ENGINE IS VIRTUALLY NEW, WITH ONLY 68k MILES. THE 20k MILES I DROVE IT, WERE SIMPLY TO THE HOSPITAL AND BACK WHERE I WORKED. IT'SNEVER SEEN SNOW, ICE, OR HAIL. EVER. A/c works beautfully, and freezing cold. HEAT WORKS PERFECT. BOTH LEATHER SEATS ARE HEATED. THIS PARTICULAR MODEL IS THE SPORT WITH THE AMG ACCESSORIES AND 17IN AMG RIMS. I have taken immaculate care of this car, and I am selling it for one reason only: TO FINALLY OPEN MY BUSINESS. AND ONCE I DO? I WILL TURN RIGHT AROUND THE MINUTE I AM CAPABLE FINANCIALLY, AND BUY ANOTHER SLK...THEY ARE SIMPLY T H A T BAD-ASS, PERIOD. IT'S IS A VERY RARE 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION, AND IS RIDICULOUSLY POWERFUL WITH A KOMPRESSOR THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. GAS MILEAGE IS GREAT- usually get around 28 mpg. CAR IS Desert Silver in color. Two front tires are less than 6 months old Update: car is a 1999, not a 1998! Update: Top was acting bizarre yesterday while it was being detailed, UGH- with hydraulics acting sticky. I will repair this before it is delivered, and have already spoken to my mercedes mechanic, who quotes 627.00 to repair to fully functioning for many more years. You DO have the option of skipping the repair if you are mechanically inclined or a dealer, and I will knock of 500 bucks. Otherwise, I will repair it and the winning selling price will remain. Your option. No big deal. Please let me know though, if you are interested.
