Sunroof vents but will not slide all the way back. The suspension is in good shape, the car drives nicely down the road without any noises or play in the steering. The engine is smooth and the transmission shifts nicely. The interior is in decent shape but could use a detail. The headliner is coming loose on the sunroof shade. Heat and defrost work well, however the blower doesn't go above medium speed. This is a nice car that shows well, the paint shines nicely. I've owned since 2004. **1974 Mercedes 450SL **Roadster Convertible** Known as the "Panzerwagon" due to its strong 8 cylinder engine and solid transmission. Really nice dark blue with Mercedes "parchment" interior, good soft top and hardly used hard top with crank winch for storage. We recently "refreshed" it with new injectors, NGK plugs, Bosch wires, synthetic oil, differential fluid, transmission filter. Tires and battery are great and its ready for Fall touring. Always garaged and never driven in Winter or rain. It does have a few paint bubbles. She starts right up and runs well for her age. A small dent above right rear wheel, otherwise the body looks really good. There are no exhaust leaks, but I would change the after market muffler at some point. This car can certainly be used as a daily driver or weekend runner. I have all the manuals and my service records.This is a real beauty and future classic collectible with no surprises! krichesond Store This is the legendary Mercedes-Benz OM617 3.0L turbocharged diesel engine inside of the w123 coupé chassis. 1985 was the last year that these mid-sized luxury supercars were produced. The engine has excellent compression after reaching the 500km milestone, and we can attribute this to exceptional maintenance over the 30 years that it's been on the road. I have started the application process to register this car for it's impressive mileage status. Paint is silver paired with the blue interior featuring MB-tex (thick gauge vinyl) seats. I bought the car six years ago and it's been my driver since. I've done oil and spin-on fuel filter changes every 10,000 miles and inline filter changes more frequently. In 2009 I had some front end components replaced as needed. I had the fuel return lines replaced due to a leak and had the valves adjusted with a new cover seal at this time as well. In 2011 the brake pads and rotors were replaced, one front caliper replaced and the other three were rebuilt. Radiator flush and transmission fluid change (but not filter). In 2012 the entire exhaust system was replaced from manifold to tail pipe, and the blower motor was replaced with new unit for the climate control. In 2013 the battery was replaced for the winter along with a couple of weak/defective glow plugs. Since then I have been spending a lot of time abroad and the car has seen less use. Updates for 2015 are a full set of new touring tires, a new outer tie rod, front end alignment, and essential fluid and filter changes at 325k. The trunk is loaded with extras. Extra fluids, a hydraulic floor jack and customized wheel lug wrench, a spotlight, jumper cables, rope, bungees, funnels, a gas can, various replacement bulbs, lubricants, five unused Bosch glow plugs, feeler gauges and specialty valve adjustment wrenches with a brand new cover gasket for next valve adjustment, various hoses, various ties and clamps, an assortment of fuses, the original tool kit, a full size matching bundt wheel, the longest extension cord I could find (for cold weather block heater situations) and spare factory keys, and even a spare ignition switch tumbler with spare keys. Automotive repair manual and the original owner's manual and maintenance booklet with documentation through 2005 (267k).The interior is immaculate except for some typical cracks on the top of the dash. The odometer works perfectly well because the trip has not been reset while driving. The floor carpet has never seen feet in 30 years thanks to all-weather rubber floor mats. The MB-tex is amazingly intact, with a small tear starting on the upper half of the driver's seat (which is still as springy and comfortable as the day it was made). The glass is nice, but there are some scratches on the door windows from operators forgetting to drop the back windows first. It's a very clean car. The original Becker is still installed but I can't seem to stop it from scanning when I turn it on, so I'll include a CD player on request if you would like to switch it. The speakers are original, and seem to all work. The Hirschmann power antennae will need to be rebuilt with a new mast to function perfectly. The sunroof works and all five power windows are functional. I have left some scheduled maintenance up for negotiation. I am willing to perform the following mechanical updates with a BuyItNow purchase after the deposit has cleared:1. I will replace the brittle D/S rear axle boot that begins to leak. If you don't plan to take the car far from Columbus Ohio, you can drive it home and replace them yourself. If you want to drive the car a long distance, I would not recommend doing this without making the repair first, because this becomes an expensive repair if the axle is ruined by being driven hard and dry. 2. I will test the glow plugs and replace any weak units, and do a valve adjustment and cover gasket replacement. Again, something you could save money and do yourself if you are handy, and for this routine I've already procured high grade (Bosch,etc.) components to complete. It's not as immediate as the axle issue, but it's a good idea to do this before winter for smooth driving and reliable cold starting.For a winning bid under the BuyItNow price, the car is sold as-is, where is, and must be picked up in person or by a transporter before the month ends. You are welcome to repair the axle on the car upon pick up, after which I have no doubts that it would make it safely across the country.
