Please read whole ad before bidding! IN STORAGE FOR 10 YEARS! Since I had so many questions asking if the car is running I had someone from Mercedes come by put some fresh gas in the intake and it started right up and runs great!! 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL Convertible 2 Owner Car with ONLY 55K Original Miles!! Clean Car Fax! This car has been in storage for about 10 year and was just removed to put up for sale. The car is not road ready its been sitting untouched, the gas is bad and should be gone over. The exterior is stunning for its age and looks to be all original. The paint looks to be original, its glossy and smooth as can be a few minor flaws! The interior is also stunning for a 30 year old car and mostly original except for a stereo upgrade before it was put in storage. Under the hood the car is un molested and original. The underside of the car is clean and solid with no signs of any major rust. I did remove the hard top and the soft top is there and it appears original and needs replacing. The car also has chrome wheels that need rechroming. Due to the fuilds being 10 years old I did not want attempt starting the car using the gas in the car and clogging up the fuel injection with any crappy fuel. I did disconnect the fuel pump, had fresh fuel put in the intake, and put a jump on the battery and the motor started right up and ran beautiful no problem with a touch of the key. Like any 30 year car the are a few exterior flaws but all minor and the interior also has some wear but very little. This car with this milage done is worth $20k to $30k I'm selling the car as-is for a faction of that so don't wait to bid it will sell fast! Up for grabs is a 3rd owner, 1991 560SEL. This car has been in our family since 2006 where my dad purchased this car from a used car dealer specializing in Mercedes & BMW automobiles. My dad handed this car down to me 2 years ago when he purchased a newer Mercedes. The car is overall in good condition but not perfect as you can see in the pictures. The bumpers have scuffs and the Driver rear door is a different color as I had it replaced with a donor part when my neighbor backed into it. The sunroof also does not operate because the cable snapped but the motor is operational. Also, during my diagnosis of the sunroof cable I was not able to properly reinstall a small headliner trim panel because the clips had broken off it. Where this car shines is the mechanical aspect since THOUSANDS have been spent in repairs to keep the car in excellent running condition. The engine operates great! It does not smoke or overheat. The transmission shifts excellent! Air conditioner & Heat work great! All power windows work. All heated seats operational. All power seats and front power head rests are operational. Cruise control also operational.
