A rare opportunity for a Mercedes enthusiast! This is a one owner car purchased by the famous Col. Robert Dilger USAF (Silver Star Recipient, A-10, Charlie Wilson's War, Maplenoll Air-bearing turntable) as a gift to himself after surviving being shot down during his tour in Vietnam. The vehicle was ordered from the Stuttgart factory and shipped to the states by Dilger. Despite the age of the vehicle it has only 54,009 ACTUAL MILES! Originally restored to show condition in 1987, currently the ENGINE HAS BEEN REMOVED in preparation for a rebuild that was not completed and will be sold w/ vehicle. Unlike most of this model, this one has NO BODY RUST (minor surface rust on rear bumper) due to being stored in a barn most of the last 40 years. The interior is in very good shape with COMPLETELY INTACT UPHOLSTERY. With relatively little cost outlay, the purchaser of this vehicle can restore this Benz to it's original condition. It is being sold to provide funds for Col. Dilger's care.
