The subject car is for sale and is in great running condition. It is a turn key vehicle, ready to be your daily driver. It has the style, performance, quality and durability of a Mercedes-Benz in a compact size. Features: - Power steering, power brakes, power windows, power sunroof, power driver and passenger seats, power passenger side mirror, power antenna. All work. - 2.6 liter single overhead cam six cylinder M103 engine. - Automatic transmission. - Four wheel disc brakes with ABS. - Air conditioning. Upgrades: - Euro-style Depo headlights. - Smoked taillights. - Alpine CDE-7858 AM/FM/CD stereo (circa 2010). Recent work includes the following (receipts provided): - New fan clutch (3/16). - New thermostat (4/16). - New belt tensioner (4/16). - New air filter (5/16). - New battery (5/16). - All fuses replaced (5/16). - New fuel filter (8/16). - New distributor cap and rotor (8/16). - Oil and filter change (11/16). - New front brake pads (11/16). Check out these endearing old car quirks: - Cruise control is inop. - Driver's seat shows wear. - Check engine light is on. It is throwing code #17, "oxygen sensor signal". Apparently the engine control unit has lost contact with the O2 sensor. This is an emissions device that does not affect the way the car runs. Since the car is now 25 years old and will never have to be emissions tested again, I have not spent the time or money to track this down. - The engine uses a quart of oil every thousand miles or so. The car doesn't drip oil on the ground or blow blue smoke, so I suspect the valve seals leak oil into the combustion chambers and the oil gets blown out in the exhaust. This is a common occurrence with the M103 engine. This also doesn't affect the way the car runs. You can replace the seals, or (cheaper option) just make sure you keep the oil topped up. I am in the market for a new toy and only have room in the garage for one, so finally after 10 years of ownership, the 500e is going to a new home. VIN WDBEA36E6P8979477 This has always been a 2nd/3rd car for me and it has seen only 33,xxx miles in my 10 years of ownership. Always garaged, rarely driven in rain, never in snow. Originally a southern California car. Star Marked till 2000 as well. This 500e is heavily modified, so if you are looking for a bone stock car, this isnt the one for you. This will be sold as you see it in the pictures, plus a factory W124 car cover and a bunch of spares. Due to its condition, the oil pressure gauge is not working, cluster checks out good and new sender is in place. - Some rock chips in front bumper, a few scratches (touched up), small rock chip in windshield (repaired) Feel free to ask questions.
