Are you a fan of the 1960s Star, Mercedes-Benz Psychedelia? [Are you experienced?] Do you like the two seater SL? Or those long and smooth two door coupes? The ones which command now $100,000 plus when properly and fully sorted? [Have you ever been experienced?] They are nice, but the less glamorous will have their day. You've seen these cars in movies, and soon you'll see them in the spotlight at fancy auction houses, along with the SL and Coupe. Yes, the workhorses of the 60s are beginning to shine, and here is why... The highly collectible SL and the Coupe of the 1960s are becoming trailer queens. Because once you get them in top form - which isn't easy or cheap - you won't drive them anymore...why wear and tear? Why reduce their value with miles of paint chips? And, those trailer queens don't drive any better than the W110. Maybe a little bit more horsepower, a bit more curves. But, these cars are so much more than appearance. You get the look and feel of 60s by running a W110. Much more economical than a queen, increasing in value each decade, much unlike your new Mercedes. The W110 has its own fan club and is a permanent fixture in Mercedes-Benz museums across Germany. Search for "heckflosse club" or "heckflosse museum". A huge, nostalgic fan-base exists across the world for all things Mercedes-Benz, but particularly 1960s, when everything was Peace and Love, the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius. [Ah! Have you ever been experienced?] This is a classic Mercedes-Benz, professionally restored and upgraded to run reliably and quietly at highway speeds. The engine and its drive-train were rebuilt to factory specification for long-term durability by professional engineers, skilled machinists, mechanics, technicians and craftsmen. You are buying a truly classic car which can only increase in value, where the heavy lifting is done, years and years and miles and miles of enjoyment. You are buying the last year of a long and successful series (ending in February 1968), where all of the issues have been sorted out by the factory. You are buying the almighty inline 6 cylinder, one of the smoothest, most successful and long-lasting engines (into the 1990s), which is more fun on the highway than the 4 cylinder or diesel versions. The objective of the restoration was to provide the driver experience back in the day, fresh off the assembly line in Sindelfingen, answering questions like: How did it handle in the curves? How does it sound accelerating? Haven't you wanted to feel the steel rolling down the road? [Well, I have.] The goal was to maintain originality, yet upgrade and improve in the name of safety, ride quality and fun. The car is restored for use as a daily driver or a reliable long-distance road rally car. But, please don't make it a queen. Upgraded to electronic ignition (even idle speed, simple, reliable, no moving parts, low cost, no maintenance, just say no to points). The interior compartment, firewall, headliner and engine room have sound-deadening treatment to reduce interior noise down to modern-day levels at idle and at speed. The noise level is reduced further by an alternate differential gearing, reducing engine rpm at speed. The safety of the car is greatly improved by the axle conversion from rear drum to disc brakes, now a truly power-assisted four disc system, as most new cars. [Ah, let me prove it to you.] The car is a 1967 Mercedes Benz 230 Sedan, 2.3 liter, single overhead cam, dual carburetor, manual-choke, electronic ignition, 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, 4-disc power brakes, a clear title, no accidents and Pennsylvania Antique Plates. The engine rebuild has around 5000 miles, completed recently also a head bolt re-torque procedure and valve clearance reset, ready now for the next 200,000 miles. Installed a new Mahle ring set, main/rod bearings, three-point valve grind/lap, valve stem seals, valve springs, gaskets, seals, etc., only genuine MB parts. Installed also a new Bosch alternator, Bosch starter and solenoid, battery, fuel pump, original Solex carburetor rebuild and sync, proper braided metric fuel lines, new fan clutch, motor and transmission mounts, etc. The oil pressure remains pegged at 45 psi - even under intermittent load or lug, which means the engine is well-sorted, well-done and tight. No blow-by, no smoke, no over-temperature, no oil consumption, as new. A new exhaust is being installed soon, a complete stainless-steel system, built to original factory specification, never to rust again, trouble-free including a lifetime warranty extended to the buyer of this car from the manufacturer. The coolant system is upgraded with a new radiator core, new water pump, new thermostat, new hose set, a complete heater box rebuild including dual-zone heating valves (rebuilt), blower motor, hoses, etc. The manual transmission was dismantled and overhauled including all wear points, bearings, seals, mounts, shift mechanism, etc. The drive shaft was dismantled and re-manufactured with new spider bearings and flex disc. The rear axle was replaced and rebuilt with another axle having disc brakes (from original drum W110) and lower-ratio differential gearing (from 4.1) for lower-rpm engine speed, providing a quiet highway speed with plenty of cruising power. The 4 disc brake system was updated with a new ATE master cylinder, new brake lines, new brake hoses, rear disc brakes, calipers (rebuilt with seals, pads, etc.), 4 new rotors, etc. The clutch system was updated with a new disc pack, master cylinder, slave cylinder, hoses, tubing, clutch bearing, etc. The steering and suspension was updated with new rubber components at every location, including spring mounts and sway bar. All tie rods are new. The steering box and pump are rebuilt with new seals. The king-pins are new, including reamed bushings and seals. New Bilstein stocks, including steering damper. A new Uniroyal tire set is installed, including a spare. The interior features a new carpet set, including rear deck and trunk and a new headliner. Installed also a Blaupunkt Cancun cassette stereo system having 4 Blaupunkt speakers 2 front speakers mounted in custom housing and covered in black leather in the kick panels and 2 rear speakers with dedicated amplifier mounted under the rear deck. The original Becker with single speaker just doesn't cut it these days, but available also. The exterior has two re-chromed bumpers and various strips. New Bosch headlights are installed, as well as new bulb set in clean lenses with good electrical ground. The exterior includes a professional auto body restoration and rust proofing, painted two-tone acrylic enamel silver metallic with clear-coat topcoat. A new windshield was purchased from Pilkington Glass, claiming the last one in the US. The front and rear window seals are new. Included also the factory tool kit, owner's manual and parts manual set with maps, dealer directory, etc. and so much more... [Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful.]

1994 Mercedes Benz C220 Automatic transmission, RWD, 4 cylinder, 2.4 liter, 140,000 miles Inspected Pennsylvania recently. The car was driven round-trip from Pennsylvania to Florida recently without problem. The engine runs strong and does not smoke, around 22 to 25 mpg. The air conditioning blows cold and heating is good. Tilt sunroof, electric windows, electric mirrors and electric seat working well. The interior is in good shape. The wheel rotors, brake pads and wheel bearings were renewed around 120,000 miles and the wheel bearings were reset and re-greased recently. The radio, speakers, CD changer and cruise control are not working. There is a large dent on the right front fender and a small dent at the left rear fender under the light. The paint has scrapes, dings, discolor and a few spots of rust. Maintenance includes regular and frequent engine oil and filter changes, new sparkplugs, new serpentine engine belt, belt tensioner, belt idler wheel and bearing, idler shock, water pump, radiator and heater hoses, auxiliary water pump, reservoir cap, thermostat, power steering filter and oil, transmission filter and oil, interior air filter, engine air filter, fan clutch, coolant flush and renew with MB antifreeze.
