This was the flagship model for Mercedes-Benz. This particular \'73 model is a 450 SE which features a 4.5 Liter V8 engine. This gasoline engine features Bosch fuel injection and generates 190 HP and a healthy 240 lb ft of torque (US Model). The V8 is backed by a 3 speed automatic transmission. The rear wheels are driven via a 3.07 final drive ratio. Safety improvements for the W116 include four wheel anti-lock brakes, strengthened body structure, padded dash, wraparound turn signals, and relocated fuel tank. Build quality on these old Mercedes is exceptional; closing the door is like sealing up a bank vault. This car is an excellent size, with room enough for 5 comfortable passengers.
