The good: power windows power locks keyless entry aftermarket CD player front wheel drive (great in snow) Lots of maintenance done over the last year (axles, bearings, boots, exhaust, and too much other stuff to list) AC was recently serviced and works great The bad: cracked windshield sunvisors need recovered there is some paint oxidation and small patches of rust rear passenger window does not roll down Overall it would be a good starter car, point A to point B car, or winter car. It is far from perfect, but mechanically pretty much everything on it works and the asking price is only $1,200 for decent transportation (you can't even buy a go kart for that much). There are no check engine lights and it runs great and the transmission shifts great. After having the AC serviced, the AC now makes a bit of a humming noise when it is off, but does not make it when it is on. The mechanic said not to worry about this and although it is a bit of an annoyance, everything still works fine. My girlfriend has owned the car for 7 years and she just recently upgraded cars and I'm helping her sell this one. The car was professionally tuned by Steve Kan, one of the most well known specialty RX7 turners. When I purchased the car it had 104,917 miles. The car has been babied but has also been used as a sports car should. I'm not talking bout hitting the rev limiter at people but instead of competing in several autocross events. It has been garage kept since the time I owned it. This is one of the cleanest Mazdaspeed Proteges you will see in the Midwest! The Spicy orange is one of the rarest colors to find considering there was less than 600 of that color ever produced (this is # 464 of 600). It has been waxed regularly to help keep the shine of the paint. the interior is an easy 9/10 with the exterior with a 9/10. There are a couple small dents from lovely people of parking lots, but are not super noticeable. The car has a clean car fax as well as a clear title to go along with it. The car was also hit in the front several years ago but did not cause any frame damage or suspension. All it needed was a fender and a new front bumper! As mentioned earlier it does have a newer engine in it that was built by Jesse at JessePrather MotorSports, the premier Mazda builder in the Midwest.
