As the sale of Maserati automobiles increased, the styling and speed of the car drew the attention of Prince Karim Aga Khan who ordered a special Maserati 5000 WP in 1962. The following year, Maserati launched is first-generation Quattroporte, which was strikingly similar to the earlier design. The design of the first generation was conducted by Pietro Frua and joined two other notable touring sedans, the Facel Vega and Lagonda Rapide. Fluids were flushed and changed. The car was brought back to life. The car runs, drives, shifts and stops well. Gas tanks were cleared, electrical sorted and the fine tuning of an expert all lavished upon this lovely dame. Rear windows need switches, the front windows work well. As of the moment, we are missing one hubcap. The interior is nothing short of spectacular. The original leather is still supple and in remarkable condition. The body is very straight and nicely balanced. The panel fit is brilliant. The brightwork all still in good form with no appreciable scaling or pitting. The paintwork now 30 to 40ish years old has a few flaws. The primrose color looks great with the black interior but there are minor chips and scratches. There is minor bubbling at the base of the A pillars/rocker areas below the front doors. These imperfections are exactly the same size as they were 20 years ago or so and have not changed while in the custody of the prior owner.
