The starter on the series is 4.2 Gran Turismo, 4.2 liter V8 with 405 Hp,it is offered only with automatic transmission. Next up is Gran Turismo S with 4.7 engine with the same exterior as the 4.2 except for a tiny 4.7 badge on the back, this is the car most dealer present as gran turismo S and is the least desirable. Then we have the S with dual oval pipe, 4.7 engine and body kit but a automatic transmission with paddles on the steering for decoration as none of the 3 models have a real F-1 transmission. Then, we have the F-1 S with all the only S body parts including integrated tail spoiler, side skirt, and the real robotic F-1 transmission, LARGER 14.2 front rotors vs 13 INCH on all other models, only one with ALUMINUM CALIPERS TO REDUCE UNSPRUNG WEIGHT, 10% STIFFER SPRINGS, SKYHOOK electronic suspension, driver adjustable exhaust for the extra oomph that announces there is a real Exotic car collector in the house. You can see it does not have a shifter in the middle of the console. This one IS THE REAL LIMITED PRODUCTION F-1 S WHICH IS A TRUE COLLECTOR CAR AND ALSO THE FASTEST AND MOST FUN . It has been called the Gran Turismo S with robotic shift,Gran turismo MC, Gran turismo F-1 etc etc....the fact is , this is the fastest and most efficient transmission ever offered on any year Gran Turismo as it does have double plate clutch that is actuated by computer control servo motors that replaced your left foots function. It shifts with a touch of your finger and because it does not have a torque converter that weighs a hundred pounds wet and robs power due to the nature of the beast. This is the quickest and most responsive Maserati Gran Turismo because it not only transfer more power to the rear wheels, it also shifts faster than Michael Schumacher ( 100 MILLISECOND). Only 299 ever made and you can count on half if not more are either taken apart , stolen or in some stage of non op. That is what makes this a rare car and one of the more expensive versions with a sticker of $144K even back in 2009. One of the best endorsement i have ever heard was from the Ferrari/Maserati dealers head mechanic who told me " this is the only Gran Turismo i will own for myself" . Now what more do i need to say?
