The track ready R888 tires have around 100 miles on them. It has a removable hardtop, power windows, a radio, and a small trunk behind the engine. I added a carbon fiber center console which really adds to the inside experience. You'll see gas mileage in the 28mpg range with casual driving. The cars condition is indicative of a 10 year old car that has been driven and not locked away in a vault. Fresh comprehensive Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emission stickers (of the most stringent in the country). Offered for bid is quite rare and very desirable 1974 Lotus Europa Special 5 Speed. One of the last of the Europas produced, model is powered by the Lotus Ford 1558 cc Big Valve engine mated to a Renault type 365 5 speed gearbox. Car was purchased from I believe the original owner in 1982 and spent most of its life in dry storage as it had some minor issues which I never had time to attend to. Approximately 2 years ago the project to get the car road going again was begun resulting in the motor being refreshed, electrics gone through and brakes rebuilt. The motor was completely disassembled, block cleaned and bores honed, crankshaft cleaned and polished and water pump rebuilt by a local Cosworth specialist. Motor was reassembled by an experienced Lotus mechanic with cylinder head cleaned and valves adjusted, carbs rebuilt, new standard rod and main bearings and new piston rings. All new gaskets and seals. New exhaust down pipe, fuel pump and clutch cable. New springs and dampers from Dave Bean at all four corners including suspension bushings. Rebuilt brake master cylinder, calipers and rear brake cylinders although the power brake servos are frozen and have been removed and bypassed. Body is very good with no real stress cracks or spider webs. A small area of damage to the left rear below the bumper was repaired but not painted. Paint could probably be buffed out to be presentable but car could really use a re-spray. The original owner did have two rectangular holes cut in the area below the spare wheel which will need to be addressed, that is the extent of body repairs required. Interior will require some work as the headliner is drooping, dash veneer is peeling and rear glass gasket needs replacement. Seat condition is not bad but whole interior really needs a thorough cleaning. To be road going and pass PA State inspection car will need 4 tires, a muffler, alternator, starter relay and wiper blades. I expect the gearbox output shaft seals should be renewed due to age, they have not been replaced. When I purchased the car the right side fuel tank had been removed being told it leaked. I cannot find it so that part has to be MIA. Otherwise the car is original and pretty much complete. Chassis is clean and straight, body shows no evidence of any crash damage and would be an ideal candidate for a concours quality restoration with most of the mechanical work already done. My goal was to just have a nice weekend driver but with a TR3 and a Duetto I no longer have the time, space or energy. A good honest car that needs a bit of finishing to be driven and enjoyed. Car does not run as it needs an alternator to complete the ignition circuit and as the tires are 30+ years old it will need to be transported. You are looking at my 2005 Lotus Elise. Car was originally a flordia car and has never seen cold air or snow. It has 37K miles on it. Comes with a PA rebuilt title. Was invloved in a front right collision that resulted in the front clam being cracked, was enough cost to total it out i guess. You can tell by the pics that the car is in nice shape, its a blast to drive. runs and drives great. titles in hand, comes with matching hard top ( no soft top ). Has a nice pioneer dvd nav head unit. A/C works etc. This car went through a strenuous "enhanced PA inspection" and passed with flying colors. I had to remove the tint that was on the two side windows and front windshield, there is still adhesive that needs to be removed from those windows, a little elbow greease and some goof off does the trick nicely i just havnt had time to do it all besides i always have the windows down :). I drive this car every chance i get it turns heads every where i go. Has an aftermarket intake not sure about exhaust. It will need state inspection here at the end of the month. It will need a new o2 sensor (50$) to pass. Check eng light comes on periodiclly over this issue but doesnt affect driveability. new sensor will cure eng light problem again just havnt had the time. Brakes are all in great shape! tires are also in very nice shape rears are like new. comes with factory key and key fob, has factory security system, power locks power windows. Has halo front turn signals (very cool). anyway i have tried to describe this car best i can any additional questions feel free to contact me.

This is a fun car, not a show car. Clear coat is blotchy. Thereder are several chips and one scratch on the right front fender that I have not attempted to buff out. The photos understate the clear coat issue. Reason for reluctant sale: Horrid pending school tax bill on four properties, But, chielfly, I do not drive it often. Purchased this California car several years ago and probably have added fewer than 2,000 miles in 10 years. And not because the car is not worthy. When a European friend in upstate New York pushed the Lotus to what I fears was the limit, no problem at all other than my abject terror. No fun driving in traffic north of Philadelphia. Fully maintained, though few issues arose due to the low mileage, other than the A/C. (I have parts, including an after-market cooling fan.) Did replace some front right suspension/driveshaft parts three years ago. The clear coat lift, coincidental with removing a new Griot Garage cover, is annoying, but a loofa seems to remove the feathering.
