1979 Lincoln Collector's Series Town Car (although purists will tell you its not 'officially' a town car). The collector's series was a special edition which included everything, the only options being leather seating and a sunroof, neither of which this car has. It came with Collector's Series specific upholstery, thicker carpets, fully carpeted trunk, leather bound owner's manual and special tool kit. The navy blue metallic paint with triple gold pinstripes is one of only two colors available, the other being white. Also specific to the Collector's Series are the color-matched padded vinyl roof, gold-tone grille, and NO opera windows in the C pillar. This car was purchased new by a doctor who had it Ziebart treated when new and died after putting only about 30000 miles on it. It was then stored in a garage for nearly 30 years. I am the 4th owner. Previous owners replaced many of the hoses and belts, I replaced the rear brake lines and fuel sending unit. The car has newer tires. The car received a $5000 trim-off repaint in the original color in 2010 because the driver's side had 'bicycle rash' from being stored in a tight garage, and the top surfaces of the hood and trunk had been stained by items stacked on them. The pinstripes were hand applied since the original decals are no longer available. The body is rust and dent free, with the exception of a pea-sized but deep dent in the top of the Stainless Trim on the passenger front fender. The interior is near perfect, with very little wear on the seats, no stains, rips or tears anywhere. Carpet looks great! The car runs, drives, shifts and stops perfectly. All windows operate perfectly, all lights work, the AM-FM-CB-8 Track radio works, the AC is ice cold. Even the clock works! These are the only negatives - the front passenger door power lock does not work, the CB-specific power antenna is missing the top ceramic bead (every one that was ever made broke and fell off), and there is a wear spot in the left corner of the steering wheel pad (also VERY common). I also removed the original flares from the trunk tool kit (they were old and sweating). Also included - the 3 volume service and shop manual, a spare hand microphone for the CB radio, a cassette adaptor for the 8-track, and a car cover. $800 due via Paypal within 72 hours of purchase. Remainder by Paypal, Certified Bank Check from a US bank, or cash, within 14 days of purchase. The car is located in Dearborn, Michigan and must be collected or have shipping arranged by the purchaser. Car must be collected within 30 days of purchase.
