1980 Lincoln Mark VIUp for sale is a 1980 Lincoln Mark VI with the rare combination of 4 doors and the larger 351 windsor engine. Black exterior and burgundy interior. The car runs great. The Lincoln has an interesting back story. The original owner worked for a carpet company that offered a brand new Lincoln Mark VI to the top carpet salesman that year. The owner was top salesman and went to the Lincoln dealership and picked out the most expensive Mark VI model on the dealer lot, which is this Lincoln. I also have all the interesting Lincoln dealership materials that came with the car, such as the ordering book with samples of all the interior options. The original owner owned the car from 1980 until 2014 when he passed away. I bought the car from his grandson. The original owner never drove the car in the snow and always had the car serviced at the dealership. Since 2014, I have kept the car in a climate controlled indoor garage and have driven it once a week to keep it in good working condition. The car has the following features: - 5.8L 351 cubic inch V8 windsor carbureted engine (this engine was only an option on the 1980 Lincoln Mark VI and is much more powerful than than the more common 4.9L 302 cubic inch engine in most Mark VIs)- Power locks and windows, keyless entry, automatic sun roof, original 8 track player and radio, air conditioning, cruise control, CB radio.- Since owning this Lincoln, I have slowly been performing preventative maintenance to keep it in good working condition. The oil was changed with synthetic oil approximately 50 miles ago. I put in a brand new air filter and fuel filter last week. I put in a brand new battery about 3 weeks ago. I have a brand new distributor cap, distributor cap rotor, spark plug wires and spark plugs that I will be installing this week. One of the center caps is missing, but I have a spare center cap that I will also be installing this week.- The car has been maintained very well over the years, but does have usual wear as is expected from a 35 year old car so its by no means a museum car. There are a few tiny dings and some light surface scratches in a few spots. The passenger side door lock actuator isn't working well and must be unlocked manually. The radio has a bit of static when its first turned on (I'm working on fixing this and it may be a loose speaker wire). Please see pictures for more details on condition. Feel free to email me with any questions.- The Lincoln comes with a variety of Lincoln dealership materials such as the ordering book with car interior samples, etc.- The actual mileage of the car is approximately 82,xxx (which will go up some as I drive the car once a week to keep it in good condition). The odometer in the car reads 15,xxx right now. The reason for the discrepancy is that the instrument cluster went bad in 2007 and was replaced at the Lincoln dealership with a used odometer (since there were no new ones available by that time). I have the paperwork from the dealership showing that the instrument cluster was replaced with a used instrument cluster in 2007 when the car had 66,xxx miles on it at that time. (I believe they must have reset the odometer in the instrument cluster at that time to 0). I also have a written document from the prior owner stating that he put roughly 10,000 miles on the car from 2007-2014. I have put around 5,000 miles in two years or so since I've owned it, which lines up with the current odometer reading of 15,xxx (which is why I believe the used odometer that was installed was likely reset to 0...not sure why they didn't set it to the same mileage as the old odometer...maybe it was just easier to reset it to 0). Lincoln Continental Mark VI 1983 Signature series - a time-warp find! This is a really authentic, great condition Continental Mark VI coupe. The car is very original in all aspects and is a rare and wonderful find. Although not necessarily considered a "collectable" by purist standards, its sheer condition makes her so.This is a genuine 2 owner car that spent its whole life in Illinois but never driven on salty roads and showing a very low 49,000 miles. Finished in optional Diamond blue metallic with a silver cabriolet vinyl top and light blue/grey leather interior. The complete combination was an optional extra with the high metallic paint finish and the leather being an additional option over cloth seats. This Lincoln has been recently gone over by a local work-shop and everything is in good operating condition. All that was required was a light tune-up. The last owner, 85 years of age, ensured the oil was changed every 3,000 miles without fail. Everything in the car works; from windows, to seats, to lights, A/C (new compressor converted to 134A), heater, right down to the most insignificant little feature - including the exterior opera lights! The car still has its original spare which appears to have never been used! The paint on the entire car is 100% original without any respray in any part. The body is rust free. The underside is rust free albeit with minor scale. The whole car is very straight, accident free and has never had any body repair. This is evidenced by the original factory stickers and markings on the inside edges and under the hood. For original paint, it is stunning with a deep luster and shine. There are little nicks and minor chips but nothing major and certainly nothing that needs repairing. It is very shiny, consistent and simply looks great from close and afar. Although not perfect, VERY impressive for a 30 year old car! All rubber, glass and trim fixtures are in wonderful condition without any signs of fading, marks or scratches. The alloy wheels are in good condition without any scuffs or rashes and look excellent. The bumpers and wheel arch mouldings are virtually prefect. The under-scuff chrome side mouldings are excellent and any marks you see in the pictures are the "mirror" reflection of the car-park asphalt. The interior is absolutely fantastic! Finished in a light blue/grey leather, she looks incredibly sharp. The dash is perfect without any sun-fading or cracking. All the vinyl, faux wood and carpets are great. The dash cluster is clean and straight but for slight tarnishing on the gold of the instruments (but hardly noticeable). The steering wheel is without a single crack. The seats are in simply amazing presentation and condition, totally clean and without even a scuff, scratch or thread pulled. This is surely the best testament for a low mileage example. Carpets, door panels, handles, switches, knobs and every little item is excellent. The headliner is also very good. The interior is without doubt a 9.5 out of 10. Just stunning. The car all round is very original in all respects. Bear new 215/70 whitewalls sit on good condition factory alloy wheels. The car has its original operating manual. ~~Overall, this Lincoln Continental Mark VI coupe is an excellent unrestored and original example. Although not a "show car" by true definition, it certainly ranks very high in its current collectible condition. The old girl has the best lines of any factory Detroit iron. Looks like a chop top,from the factory. Odometer shows 54000, i don't know, the wear patterns on the brake and gas pedal are consistent with the miles showing. All i know is that i did not monkey with the odometer. This is one of the nicest kept and most factory correct 1970 Continental Mark III's you will find. It is in concours condition throughout. It has earned a Senior Grand National trophy awarded by the AACA and a William Clay Ford trophy awarded by the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club. This Mark III would make an excellent addition to any collection of low mileage factory correct automobiles. The interior of this Mark III is all original and in pristine condition. The vinyl top is original and in showroom condition. The trunk lining is original and in perfect condition. The engine compartment has been detailed to factory specifications using all correct clamps, hoses, belts, decals. The body is mostly in impeccable original condition, with the hood having been repainted to show condition. Various chrome pieces have been upgraded to NOS or carefully rechromed to new condition. The undercarriage has been detailed to pristine condition. This Mark III sits on four NOS Michelin X radial tires as were provided by the factory. All systems, accessories and power options work as they did when this Mark III was driven off the showroom floor at Dick Price Motors in Wichita, KS in December of 1969. According to the Marti Report on this Mark III (original goes with this car), only 115 of this model in 1970 were made with these paint and trim codes (M, 1A).
