I bought this car as a project for last winter, between surgery on my elbows and the weather getting nice I haven't finished it. That coupled with the fact I bought a Gs400 In Arizona this spring on vacation my motivation to finish this car is gone. The car has a prior salvage title which was not disclosed to me at the time of sale. Not disclosing this info is illegal in the state of Iowa. The car can be licensed and driven but my insurance will not provide full coverage on it. Others may be different. I had already tore the car down to prep the body so I decided it wasn't worth the fight and preceded on fixing the car. The dent in the driver's quarter was pulled and hammer and dollied out then skim coated. Whole car has been block sanded and imperfections addressed. It needs primer/sealer and reblocked to get it perfect. Original color is pearl white which I was planning to have resprayed on it. As far as the mechanicals go the the car "only needed a water pump" I was duped again. Turns out the head was warped so I put a new head, water pump, and timing belt on it. I drained the transmission and put new filter and fluid in it. The upper control arms have been replaced also. It runs and drives but the throttle is slow to respond. Maybe old fuel or an adjustment of the TPS. The tires will need to be replaced soon also. I have all the parts for the car to put it back together minus a few clips for some trim and the rubber seals on the lower door molding new replaced. I bagged and labeled the hardware when I removed it. I would be willing to help reassemble the car after it is painted. I have a trailer and would be willing to deliver if needed. I have a Pearl white Lexus gs that needs painted. I would say 80%+ of the body work is done. I was planning to have this finished before I had surgery on my hands on but ran out of time. Everything I took off the car I bagged and labeled. I would be willing to help reassemble the car after it is painted (within a reasonable distance). There are a few clips that will need to be purchased for door trim and the rubber trim that screws to the bottom of the doors could stand to be replaced. I bought the car barely running, turns out the head was warped. I have replaced the head with a rebuilt one, put new timing belt, timing gears, water pump, plugs and wires on the engine. Transmission has new fluid and filter also. Car fires right up but still has some old gas in it so the throttle is not very responsive. The engine has good compression. I also replaced the upper control arms since the ball joints were shot. The guy I bought it from was not honest about the title and I tore into it before I received the prior salvage title. Completely my stupidity for diving in head first. Car can still be liscenced, just can't carry full coverage. At least my insurance company won't allow full coverage on it. I planned to finish the paint and put a turbo 2jz engine in it and have a fast sleeper on the cheap. Summer is coming and my thoughts turn to boating so the Lexus needs to go. Whole or parts. Doesn't matter to me. Just want to recoup some of what I have in it. I do have a trailer and can deliver if needed. Make me an offer without low balling me and we will talk. I would be willing to sell just the motor and transmissions or just the rolling chassis. I prefer to sell whole but am willing to sell the big parts alone. I do not have to sell this cause I need money. I will keep it and finish it this winter if there is no interest. I would like it gone though, I am tired of moving it. Thanks Chad
