2003 Land Rover Discovery 4x4 Up for sale is my 2003 Land Rover discovery with 112,XXX miles on it. I bought it as a fun beach vehicle project and I’ve kind of run out of steam on it.It runs, drives, and stops; it just has a few issues as noted below. It would make a great beach vehicle as is, or could be a reliable daily driver with a few things addressed.I want to be as up front and honest with this car as possible which is why the “bad” list is much longer than the “good”.Click here for more pictures. I don't make exceptions for other licensed dealers. 3.5.2. Sales Tax. 3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. I am required to collect sales tax at the rate applicable in your county at the time of sale. 3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you have the vehicle shipped to your location, I do not collect any sales tax; you will be responsible for paying your state's sales tax directly. If you come to Florida to pick up the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect either your state's sales tax, or Florida's 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here. If I collect our 6% because your state's rate is higher, you will be charged the balance in your state. I always recommend you check with your local tag agency first; although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not. Some states also have specific forms or procedures that must be used for out-of-state purchases. 3.5.3. Tag & Title. 3.5.3.1. Florida Buyers. I am required to handle your tag and title work, and I collect an estimate of those costs at the time of sale, which range from $100 to $450 depending on your specific situation. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference before getting your tag and title. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect. 3.5.3.2. Out-of-State Buyers. I will provide you with the vehicle's title, and you will be responsible for handling the tag and title work in your state. 3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially. 3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion. 4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle 4.1. Shipping. It is frequently less expensive to have a vehicle shipped to your location than it is to fly in and drive it back, and certainly more hassle-free. I can assist you in finding a shipper and can get very competitive shipping quotes. You pay the shipper directly and are responsible for delivery arrangements. I assume no responsibility for damage to the vehicle incurred after it leaves my premises. Your vehicle will be available to ship out once full payment is received and has cleared; I send out titles once payment has cleared and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed. 4.2. Happy to help you ship as needed... or it is capable of long haul as needed. The exterior is in good shape... 147,000 miles worth. It has typical dings and blemishes from use... but nothing that stands out. What's bugs me is the horizontal tape going around the mid-section... it has wear from washings... needs pulled off and replaced... the hood has typical rock chips... but again nothing you'd not expect on a 2003 and one that's been used! On AutoCheck it shows a mileage problem... we're not aware of any. They show 30,000 miles "missing" on the report and their dates... the 10,000/year seem appropriate to get to the current 147k miles. New rear Drive Shaft coupler and bolts - she will do 95mph no problem, no vibrations :)Both front and rear Sunroofs work fine - open/close/etc.Steering wheel controls still work with the Kenwood in dash Navigation (Volume, channels, modes) New Crank Shaft sensor, new Throttle sensor, new coolant tank, new brakes, new Front 02 SensorsTires are front 30% tread, rear 50% tread and the spare is like new. Transmission filter and fluids done 1 month ago, oil changes every 3k milesRuns, drives, front AND the rear and 3rd row AC is now COLD after new compressor, tows like a badass - see pics! Took my 5000lb boat and trailer no issues. Rear bumper is an ARB steel plate with proper black paint. Has some small dings in it but is about 6 months oldTransfer case shifts fine into 4L and 4H. Have had no problem with Tampa mud, floods and rain!New Thermostat and Water pump and Serpentine Belt and idler tension done March this yearInterior is great as far as headliner (small stain on passenger front door side about 8" long) , dash, doors, etc The leather seats in front are OK. The driver's armrest has a small tear in the leather. Back of passenger seat has a 1" tear/wear markRear seats looks fine and the Jump seats 3rd row are like new. ::::::The Bad::::::Needs rear 02 sensors to make the "Service Engine Soon" light go away for good $35-$45 on Ebay or from your local parts store.Has small scratches on the outside and some minor plastic trim pieces loose here and there, rear right mud flap missing.Lower Rear fog light / reverse light is cracked - still works. See pics. Spare tire Rack is a little tilted/bent inward after I backed 2mph into a tree in a raging stormTop radiator coolant T Fitting leaks a little (top off coolant a small amount every so often) I just haven't gotten around to ordering a replacement. E-Brake check light is on due to either a bad sensor on the brake fluid level, Someone put stickers over the ABS lights and based on the engine codes when it's hooked to a computer it could be a wheel sensor or the wiring. Brakes operate fine, and fluid is fine. These have been called the "3 Amigos" if you want to research it. The Kenwood doesn't always rear DVD's but Sirius Radio, GPS, Bluetooth, Ipod, AMFM all work fine. ::::::The Story of this Truck:::::: Purchased locally used in 2012 as a project and temporary vehicle. I bought it then for more than what I'm selling it for now except when I got it we had to trailer it home and none of the power windows or locks worked, there was no stereo, the AC needed a compressor and the front drive shaft was blown. I was "told" it had a reman engine and transmission put in at 130k Miles but that was before I owned it and the owner seemed honest. Seeing that she leaks no oil - or power steering fluid - I might believe that. I'm a Rover guy and I have owned (3) Discovery IIs , a Discover I, 2 Range Rovers and an LR3 and an LR4. I totaled the LR4 in 2012 and this green beauty has been my go between since. ::::::Why am I selling? :::::: Because it's older, was supposed to just be temporary and I have a nice bonus this month and feel like getting a new car. Now that my boat stays on the lift, I never need to tow and with the wife hating driving this thing - I gotta compromise. Come with a bunch of random spare parts, a tire cover, hoses/belts/whatever else I can find around the garage for it. ::::::Why is it $3100:::::: ? Because that's about as cheap as they go for a running, driving Land Rover in the 2003-2004 range just before the discontinued them. Sad - I love this boxy thing! The StealerShip wants to give me about $2700 and NADA Value for Trade in is $2900. Private Party sale is between $3000 and $3600 for a 2003 with high miles so I here we are. I purchased this Rover approximately 13 months ago. Since then, I had a new AC Blower installed for $900 and the entire coolant system refitted for $850. I have also purchased TWO NEW rear tires. The car is in great shape. I recently had a CarMax appraisal done, and they found ZERO mechanical issues (NO FRAME DAMAGE). ZERO transmission issues. ZERO engine issues. The car is in great shape. Normal wear and tear on the leather/steering wheel. This car easily has 50,000 miles in life left, and had recent paint work on all body parts. LOOKS FANTASTIC! This truck its been lift it with Rovertym 3" heavy duty springs, 12" of travel in the front with foxs 2.0 shocks, and 10" of travel in the rear... abs extended brake lines and abs cables as well, adjustable pan hard rod from Rovertym and also the rear watt link age to add more articulation .... Running 35/12.5/r16 Pitbull rockers and ARB Tween lockers with a cdl shifter install to select 4x4 or just awd.... Bumpers are from Tactical rovers front and rear, Mile marker winch 12lbs force, the truck its been equip with a mantel snorkel original land rover, and also the roof rack. Heavy duty front and read drive shafts, hellas 4000 install in the front bumper and LEDs install on the roof rack.. Also led inside the cabin that light up when open the doors or can be used as reading lamp..... This truck still got a lot more up grades to list. a/c electric fan it's been rebuild, abs valve by pass its been done 4 years ago, The original type of t/stat that destroy this engines its been modified with a masseur inline thermostatat housing, using a 180F chevy t-stat. the truck runs all day long with the a/c on of off at 180F to 185F the most.... This truck has no issues with any warning lights at all, no check engine light or abs or asr lights and its been like this for years.... The truck runs solid. My last long trip was from ft lauderdale to washington dc to n.c to tennesee and g.a!!! It was great!!!
