This Defender is pristine, one of a kind! Defender no.2461. Exterior Upgrades: Body was dis-assembled, acrylic base coat and custom painted Land Rover White and Beluga black. Wheel arches were prepped and sprayed gloss Beluga Black to match hood and bumpers, rollbars. Rollcage, rear bumper and front bumper/bull bar were all powder coated in Beluga Black Gloss to match the body. Upgraded KBX grill with JL Speaker LED black headlights, clear parking and direction front LED lights with fog/day lamp LED installed in bumper. On the rear all lights replaced with LED (brake, parking, directional, and backup). Installed Land Rover spec side rails. Repainted chassis; sprayed wheel wells and undercarriage in bedliner. Blacked out engine bay to complete custom paint job. Recently purchased a Badger Coachworks Surrey Top to compliment the full top that is also a Badger Top (Full Top has some wear I just never have it on in Austin). Defender was recently upgraded with a 2" lift and TeraFirm shocks and springs. Brand New Atturo, 285/75 R16 AT Tires on the freshly powder coated black original rims. All hardware upgraded to stainless steel. No body rust. Badge can be riveted back on, currently has badge installed from restoration company. Interior Upgrades: Refurbished entire dash kit with re-dye process and upgrades as needed. Stereo pod was integrated to dash to hold the new stereo along with USB chargers. Stereo was completely upgrade with new head unit, new amp, 2 - 8" subs, and 4 - 6.5" waterproof speakers. Seats have been professionally re-covered with black leather and white stitching. Brand new interior door panels. The flooring has been upgraded to black marine carpet and custom fit black floor mats. Upgraded interior light to LED and recovered center console pad in matching black leather. Its as clean as you will find Engine: This Defender has 97,500 miles on the odometer however the engine has been completed revamped by land rover specialist. The transmission was rebuilt in 2015 at approx 92,000 miles, brand new clutch during Fall 2015 restoration, upgraded oil cooling lines, engine completely serviced in Dec 2015. Transfer case, rear and front differential, drive shaft all rebuilt. Documentation for restoration available. Land Rover 2a 1963. Right Hand Drive. 2.4 liter petrol motor with 4 speed. Completely restored 3 years ago from bare chassis. Engine, gearbox and transfer rebuild. Less than 1000 miles driven since restoration. Capstan winch and Toro overdrive. Vehicle started its life as a cab chassis and delivered to the Australian Government. It has had a total of 3 owners. Vehicle is rust free. The gearbox was completely pulled apart and checked. New bearings and bushes, new gears where needed, and new synchro’s. The main shaft was professionally set up due to the need to get the shimming right. The engine was pulled down to a bare block, new bearings, and bushes etc. new rings. The bore was checked to make sure it had not been bored out and new pistons used. The head was taken to a shop and new hardened valve seats put in to allow regular unleaded to be used. The head was set up by them with new springs. It drives perfectly and starts up first time every time. Recently passed inspection without any problems. It has original Smiths circular heater and everything is functional. Previous owner had additional gauges fitted which are not original and just need to be connected. It also has cigarette lighter adaptor with USB connection that was wired to a second battery powered by a solar panel. Vehicle has Texas clear title and registration. 1985 Land Rover Defender 90. Ebay will not accept the VIN because it is imported. Great Patina. Gets looks and compliments everywhere I go. This is an imported version with RHD. It was imported in 2012 by Sky Top Rovers. The frame was repaired and front seats were replaced prior to coming to the states. The 2.5 diesel runs great. It does leak a teaspoon or two of oil after being parked but that is common with these old Rovers. The frame is solid with only light surface rust. The bulkhead has been repaired and the bondo is evident as shown in the pictures. Floorboards are solid. The doors, especially the passenger side, is pretty rough and would benefit from welding in repair panels and new window track. The ride is acceptable but would benefit from new bushings. The front fog lights are not wired. Front seats are in great shape. Has side facing benches with lap belt in the rear which fold up for additional cargo room. Custom front bumper, side steps, and roof rack look and work great. 2" lift, 285/75/16 tires. Truck is currently register, inspected, and being driven regularly. Very fun truck. Doubt they are common anywhere, but only a couple in a 100 mile radius of where I live. Not interested in trades. Text is best for questions but am available for calls in the evening. 325-660-7438. I have since rebuilt just about every facet of the vehicle . The engine and all mechanical work was done within the last 500 miles. NOTE - I put 1980 in the descriptor due to EBAY not liking the British VIN numbers of these older trucks. This is a 1986 Land Rover Defender, with clean title from the state of Texas. (I bought it from the Carolinas and transferred to Texas, no lien, title in hand.) Picture Notes - Company logo on side and back windows will peel right off. The three snow pictures were mid-mod so you can see it without light bars and headlamp covers. Full listing of work completed is found below: Exterior Modification: New Paint Job - this beauty has been sprayed with a Kevlar infused bed/liner material to give it a one off look. This work was done by one of the partners that originated the "Starwood Jeeps" that made the bed-coating paint jobs famous all over the world. An incredible exterior and truly nothing else like it. Light Rack and Bull Bar added and completed with 5 LED light bars. All exterior lighting(including headlamps) has been upgraded to clear LED for both a clean look and much brighter/safer visibility. I have driven it for about 8 months now, and have put about 7,000 trouble free miles on it. The service records indicate that it was a Texas vehicle most of its life, serviced in Austin and in San Antonio before going to Colorado to a Land Rover collector/owner. The truck has had the Speedometer/Odometer replaced by Land Rover at 38k miles, so it shows 46k now. This was a common issue in the Defenders, and if you are looking at this ad then you know that isn't a issue as it is documented and was done by Rover at an AD. 1987 Land Rover Defender 90. This is the “County” spec imported from the UK and fitted with the 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine and 5-speed manual transmission. Vehicle is right-hand drive. Vehicle has covered only 68000 miles and comes with lots of documentation from the past 10 years to support this mileage. Vehicle is in very original condition with minimal modifications (only original unmodified vehicles can be legally imported into the US.) The minimal modifications include front bull-bar, grill, side-steps, upgraded Exmoor front seats. Vehicle is mechanically sound and starts, runs, drives and stops with no issues. There are no leaks or funny noises. Frame is in good original condition and has never been repaired. It would benefit from a clean and rustproofing to preserve it for years to come. The bodywork is clean and tidy with a few minor dings commensurate with age. There is some slight oxidation of the aluminum under the paint in a few places but the paint still looks good with all the original decals still in place. There is some corrosion along the bottom edge of the rear door, a small patch on the seam just below the driver side rear side window, and top corner of the bulkhead. All of these corrosion issues are shown in the pictures and would benefit from an easy repair. The vehicle is currently registered and titled in Texas. I have a clear Texas title in my name.
