This is a 1966 Land Rover Series IIa 109 inch Station Wagon. It has the safari roof with original sun shade. The gearbox has been replaced with a series III synchromesh gearbox. Additionally, the head was replaced with another series II head with hardened valve seats. All outriggers have been replaced and the frame is rust free and coated. The left front fender and both 2nd row doors are new. All four brakes and drums have also been replaced. The fuel sending unit recently quit. This means that fuel gauge isn't working. A little history of this Series IIa....I purchased this in February while stationed in Germany. The owner was a Dutch gentleman who owns a Land Rover restoration shop. His business specializes in complete restorations of antique Land Rovers. This particular Land Rover was his personal vehicle and it was his daily driver. All work was performed by him and his team. I purchased it in Feb of this year and imported into the USA in July. The Land Rover was originally purchased in Paris, France in 1966. I have a certified copy of the factory records from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. The Land Rover spent her entire life in Europe (France, Belgium, The Netherlands) until I imported it. My goal was to completely restore it and pass it down to my son. However, my job is potentially moving my family...again...and I'm unable to bring it to our new location. This is a great driving Series IIa and a perfect candidate for a complete restoration. It drives as is and is guaranteed to turn heads. Please keep in mind that this is a 1966 Land Rover. She has the normal leaks and few rust areas that are associated with a Land Rover series. I will be more than happy to email additional photos or answer questions. All rust is shown in the photos. The frame is completely rust free. I spent over $2K to have a Dutch Land Rover restoration expert remove all rust and coat the entire frame.
