Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Greetings from Kansas City,First things first. . .this will be a very long and detailed description. If you're a Rover nut like me, it will be a great read and make total sense. If you're not, then I'll cut to the chase. This is a remarkable 1999 P38 Land Rover Range Rover 4.6 HSE with only 84K miles that lived its entire life in San Antonio, TX under the care of just ONE OWNER. All services completed by the Dealer and it is fully sorted and ridiculously built/kitted out, ready for the road or your next off-road adventure. Major mechanical changes occurred under BMW's ownership beginning in 1999 so the ’99-’01 examples are revered as the "Ones to Own". Now the details... My son had decided that a P38 was destined to be his "first" rig/build so I started the hunt. I've owned a Rover of some flavor since 1992, five of which have been P38s and I am keenly aware of all the subtle nuances both good and bad. I alerted all my contacts in TX and AZ to be on the lookout for a very special example that would satisfy my requirements of being low mileage with all services documented no accidents and cosmetically sound. Three months into the search I was contacted about a One Owner, Epsom Green, 2000 HSE in Dallas, TX w/ 81K miles that fit the bill. I had it inspected and subsequently shipped up to me. My son was ecstatic and after a bit of sorting the rig was deemed perfect for him. Fast forward two weeks later and another one of my contacts called and said he had the perfect Rover for us that lived in San Antonio, TX. I responded that one was already found and purchased but he continued to describe another One Owner, 1999 HSE finished in Blenheim Silver Metallic example with only 80K miles that again, had everything documented as well as some very significant recent maintenance. Well, I had it inspected and shipped up. So there we were, two fantastic P38s that are impossible to find with the right history and super low miles. I went through the process of fully sorting this one out as well and gave my son the choice. I was confident in both being an adequate choice but really had hoped he would choose this one with the big ticket maintenance items just completed (Head Gaskets, Seals, Axles, A/C, Etc.) and he did. We then proceeded to make this the most remarkable and capable P38 Rangie in existence (No Expense Spared). We built this to handle the roughest and most challenging off-road terrains along with providing a comfortable and reliable form of daily transportation for him. Since completion this past May, he has logged 4K miles and been the center of attention everywhere he’s traveled. This rig garners more attention than you can even imagine. Recently my son came to me with an idea for an even more extreme rig so here she is for sale to free up some cash to start the new project. Here is a list of items addressed within the past 3K miles prior to my purchase: Overhauled Transmission Head Gaskets Replaced & Heads Overhauled w/ New Plugs Re-Sealed Engine-Valve Covers, Oil Pan, Accessory Case, Front & Rear Seals, etc New Radiator & Expansion Tank Control Arm Bushings Diffs and Transfer Case Fluids Changed A/C Serviced Here is what we have done once in our possession: TerraFirma P384K 4” Lift Kit/Coil Conversion Spring Conversion TerraFirma TF834 Steering Damper/StabilizerTom Woods Custom “Double Cardan” Front Driveshaft (gets rid of vibrations from lift)Custom Adjustable Panhard Bars-centers axles after liftJKS 3100 Swaybar Disconnects TerraFirma TF107 Bead-Lock Wheels (rings not installed so street legal) Goodyear DuraTrac Tires-285/75R16 (33.1")*** The Suspension and Tires Net a 5.5" Lift with no road handling issues*** TerraFirma TF898 Front Differential GuardTerraFirma TF078 Discreet Winch Mount-hides winch behind bumper12000lb WinchBobbed Front BumperAkebono Brake Pads Front and RearNew OEM Rotors Front and RearCustom Rock Sliders w/ Bump-Outs-will support weight of truck as a jack pointGarvin Wilderness Rack-modified FJ80 Rack w/ custom machined mounting blocks ***jack and shovel not included…birthday gifts so my son will be keeping them*** 44” LED Off-Road Light Bar – rack mountedHella Black Magic Off-Road Lights – bumper mountedCustom Light Harness w/ Relays and Switches in factory locations on dashOEM Front Brush GuardOEM Rear Light GuardsMagnaFlow 10435 Stainless Muffler (sounds mean without being obnoxious)Removed Three OEM Mufflers/Tailpipes AlignmentNew Battery (Proper Group 31)Oil Service – Mobil 1 (81,500 miles)Transfer Case Serviced – Castrol Dextron (81,500 miles)Axles Serviced – RedLine 75/90 Synthetic (81,500 miles)Transmission Serviced – Castrol Dextron & New Filter (81,500 miles)Brake Fluid FlushCoolant Flush Power Steering Fluid FlushedNew Serpentine BeltReplaced Front Engine Main SealReplaced Front Axle SealsNew Starter Replaced Transfer Case Solenoid & ECM (was slow to engage) New Air FilterNew Spark Plug WiresNew Spark PlugsNew ABS Accumulator (was weak)New HVAC Control HeadLH Blower Motor Replaced (the hard one)LH Blower Blend Motor Replaced (the hard one)Center Console Shock/Strut Replaced‘01+ Center Console Lid – Deeper Cup Holders – makes them very usefulNew Interior Rear View Mirror – auto dim now worksSubwoofer Speakers Re-FoamedRemoved Useless OEM Nav and Replaced Center Switch Housing (allows for cup holder)OEM Dash Cup HolderRemote Control Rebuild KitNew Ultra-Leather Headliner (Pilatus Aircraft Material) Added OEM Grab Handle on Driver’s SideAll Weather MatsNew Pollen FiltersNew Windshield WipersNew Spare Tire Cover HandleNew Dash Mat (small rubber mat on center of dash that typically gets lost)Wired In US-Spec 7-Pin Trailer Connector – replaces Euro/NATO Spec SocketPre-Wired for Trailer Brake Controller (I figured might as well while in there) Clay Bar'd, Polished and Waxed He has driven this daily for 4K miles including trips to the lake as well. I can report that this Rangie is a fantastic driver with absolutely zero issues mechanically or cosmetically inside and out. Completely clean CarFax showing no accidents and a documented maintenance history from the prior owner. The paint shines like new and the interior is spotless, absent of the typical leather wear as it has been cleaned and conditioned since new. We sorted this gal with the intent my son would be able to enjoy it worry-free for many years to come. Low mileage P38s are few and far between let alone ones that had only One Owner and all Services completed by the dealer during their ownership. It has never seen a snow flake thus the underside is just as clean and rust free as the shiny side. Well, if you read thru this you’ve probably figured out that nothing was overlooked as this is likely the most over-built Range Rover in existence. I doubt it could be replicated regardless of the depth of your pockets as you just can’t find a P38 worthy of this type of investment and time. Truly ready for many more years of enjoyment but be forewarned, you can’t get out of Costco or the grocery store without having a few conversations about it…you better like attention if you’re going to drive this rig. Please don't hesitate to give me a call if you have further questions. Thanks for your interest, Dave816 – Eight Six Three – 8600 ***I have an excellent shipping resource and would be glad to assist getting this rig dropped in your driveway. Expect $300-$900 depending on how far you are away from Kansas City***
