I am listing a 2 owner, fully restored, 1985 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler for sale with under 400 miles on the restoration. This beautiful Scrambler has a completely rebuilt 4.2 liter motor with Mopar fuel injection added for every- start reliability. The automatic transmission was rebuilt at the same time, which has under 400 miles on it as well. No expense was spared in this restoration as a 2" ARB top of the line lift kit was installed with 5 matching Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure All-Terrain tires for exceptional ride quality. We also added power brakes to make stopping the beautiful Jeep easy as as that of a modern day vehicle. There was a 99% rust free vehicle before the restoration, and we of course made it 100% rust free when the restoration was performed. The paint is 2007 Jeep Wrangler white (easy to match up for touch -up) combined with black spray- in bedliner accents, as well as in the floor of the cab to make it completely water proof if you decide to take the top off and have bad weather. We went ahead and added extra protection in terms of the rocker guards and bumpers. The bumpers, both front and rear (rear with the tire carrier as well), and the rocker guards are all WARN high quality products to make sure the Jeep is protected against anything you may decide to throw its way. We were truly not planning on ever getting rid of the Jeep, so we built it to last long term. Unfortunately our interests have changed, which is the only reason we are selling this beautiful piece of Jeep history. We have receipts that total over $33,000 on this restoration, not to mention the original price of the vehicle. This was not a half-ass reconditioning. Lifted, locked, and ready to rock! Super reliable straight six and five speed with overdrive make a sweet combo. Axles, steering, clutch, and transmission rebuilt by professionals and I have the receipts. Runs great and drives smooth down the highway (no wobble). Put it in 4Lo and this Jeep is a Mountain goat! If you're planning on buying a CJ7, you will find they are woefully inadequate for offroading in their stock form and you will spend a great deal of money getting them trail ready. From the weak two piece rear axle shafts to the flimsy steering box mount, all these problems and more have been rectified on this Jeep. All gauges, headlights, brake lights, front and rear turn signals work. Easy to wrench on yourself and no computer in this Jeep to get in your way. Frame is very solid and rust free. I am including a detachable tow bar with the sale so you can tow the Jeep with a half ton pickup or SUV if you so desire. Registration good through February 2017. I have a clean Texas title in hand. This is a 33 yr old Jeep and has its share of flaws/character. Turn signals on side front fenders do not work. One or two small rust spots on the body and a few areas where the paint is peeling. Floorboards are solid except for one 1" size hole on the driver's side where the body lift was installed. Don't need a key to start (key wont stay in the ignition switch) but I have a Club for the Jeep so nobody can steal it. I have a fairlead for the winch but it hasn't been installed yet.
