Selling a green 1996 Jeep Cherokee. This Jeep has seen better days, but it runs and the 4wd works great. The mileage is 179147 miles. Brand new battery. Minor transmission issues in that it runs and changes gears, but it stays in a gear for awhile and sometimes needs to be manually switched. There are other minor issues such as a minor leak and cosmetic issues, fuel gauge doesn't function, no stereo due to theft, u-joint issues, etc. I can't think of anything else, but it does run and was our major source of transportation for a number of years. Only reason selling it is that we purchased a newer vehicle and no longer need this one. I'm not sure how many owners before us, but we've had it now for around 6 and a half years. Only selling locally in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Michigan area. Looking for $1000 but will consider reasonable best offers.

Solid, running and driving 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic. I bought this Jeep last November to use at the beach and in the snow, but I've recently traded in my car for a pickup so it's time for this to go. For being 15 years old, it's in good shape with very minimal rust, none of which is on the frame. Would make a good daily driver, winter beater, or project. The Good:- new alternator and serpentine belt- relatively new front brakes (about 5 months ago)- below average miles for a 4.0- two new tires, other two have plenty of tread left- clean interior- shifts smoothly- good working 4x4- has never overheated- clean carfax The Bad:- small crack on passenger's side of windshield (does not obstruct view and has not increased in size since I bought the Jeep)- rust on lower part of driver's side doors (seen in pictures)- several small dings in body that can be seen if looking closely Shoot me a message with any questions. For sale is my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4X4 with the legendary straight six cylinder motor. The Straight six motor is essentially bullet proof and impossible to kill; I have two friends that have the same jeep and theirs have 278k and 400k on the motor and they are still running strong. My jeep only has 152,000 miles on it, so it is barely getting broken in. Recently I had the radiator replaced with an all aluminum radiator, new rear main seal, new front main seal and a aftermarket radio with a iPhone/iPod hookup, USB slot and a CD slot. The interior in the Jeep is excellent condition with no rips or stains and is extremely comfortable. The transmission is very tight and you can not even feel it shift gears like most Jeeps. The 4wd system works flawlessly and does great in the snow; since it is 4wd and has a short wheelbase. Tires are in good shape. The Jeep has power windows, power locks and power mirrors. Mileage is 202,000. The interior is in excellent and very clean condition. The paint is in good condition overall but there is fading on the roof. Issues: a 6" rust area near the gas cap, there's a lateral crack in the windshield at the bottom (does NOT obstruct view), and the A/C needs to be recharged. This is an excellent running, clean, well maintained truck that starts immediately when you turn the key. I purchased this vehicle last year and have made many upgrades. I have used it as a daily driver and have taken it to the local national forest (2 hour drive) for camping & hiking trips. It is very dependable, I would not hesitate to jump in it and drive it anywhere. My daughter wants me to buy her a newer car, that is the only reason I'm selling it. As stated above, the paint & body has no dents but there are minor scratches and paint chips. This is a southern Jeep and as such, there is no rust on the body. It is a 16 year old Jeep with original paint and it has been used, therefore it is not a show vehicle. That being said, from 20 feet away you cannot see most of the minor scratches and it is a good looking vehicle. I get compliments on it all the time. The Brush guard, step bars and custom built roof rack were all purchased new and installed last year. The roof rack is built from heavy steel and is great for hauling canoes, kayaks, lumber, ladders, etc. It is mounted into the factory roof rack mounting holes and I still have the factory rack if you would prefer it instead. The off road lights on the brush guard were just some old ones I had in the garage. They are just bolted on for looks, not wired up and not sure if they work or not. The interior is also in very good condition for a 16 year old vehicle. The seats have no rips or tears, the carpet does have some stains as do the plastic threshold panels where you feet enter the vehicle and in the cargo area. I am not a smoker and I haven't noticed any smoking odors. The interior is not perfect but again, most folks who ride with me compliment the interior for being clean. The heat is hot and the AC cold. Completely new AC system just installed, new compressor, dryer & condenser. There is an aftermarket Stereo & speakers installed. I have also noticed a heavy gauge power cord that runs from under the backseat to under the hood beside the battery. Apparently a previous owner had an amplifier installed. The original factory jack is still located under the back seat and the back seat folds down for more cargo area. The engine cranks & runs great. The Jeep has 104,750 original miles. The 4.0 bulletproof inline 6 motors are known to run well past 200k miles, I have even seen a few with over 300k miles. The exhaust manifold was cracked when I purchased it, so I replaced it with a Dorman manifold with baffles on the long pipes. This improved design allows the manifold to expand & contract without cracking again. I also replaced the stock, single jet fuel injectors with Dodge four jet injectors. This provides better fuel ionization for better performance. Transmission shifts great and 4wd works perfectly. Last Winter after a decent snow (rare in Alabama), I drove the Jeep to the National Forest and explored snow covered dirt roads all day. The 4wd performed perfectly with no issues. A few months ago, I installed a new set of Skyjacker shocks on the front and rear of the Jeep. It also has new exhaust from the cat back, new Catalytic converter & muffler. As stated above, a few weeks back the check engine light came on and the code read that it was caused by the downstream O2 sensor. I replaced both O2 sensors, the one on the exhaust manifold and the downstream sensor between the catalytic converter and the muffler. I had the light turned off, but it came back on a couple of days later. Again the code read for the downstream sensor. Since I've already replaced it and the Jeep is running fine, I haven't done anything else. The tires are 31 X 10 X 15 mud tires that have approx 50% tread remaining. They do sing going down the highway. For that reason, I was planning to purchase some all terrain tires after these wore out.
