Rare to begin with, this came from the factory with the one-year-only Tawny Orange and Black paint scheme, arguably Jeep's best paint scheme ever. This rig has been rebuilt, and restored as detailed below, and is a turn-key reliable daily-driver, 50-state DEQ certified equipment, and new throughout. Not a speck of rust, and wearing beautiful brand-new bodywork and paint, she looks like a million bucks and rides just as nicely, too. This is the fully loaded high-line Wide Track Sport model featuring the extra exterior brightwork, bucket seat interior, sport steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, cruise, tilt, and more. A gorgeous Jeep in all respects, this is the result of a 10-plus year full professional restoration, and it shows... just fantastic. Much time was spent sourcing excellent stainless steel trim, restored grill, small detail items, et cetera. Details are as follows: - Rust free original body with new high-end two-stage Tawny Orange and Black paint job & factory reproduction Cherokee Chief decals - Special oversized Wide Track fender flares take the original concept to the next level - New windshield and side glass, rubber gaskets, weatherstrip, window felt/wipers, etc. - Fantastic original bumpers, chrome, and stainless-steel exterior trim - Wilderness Safari expedition rack w/spare tire holder, axe & shovel brackets, and Hi-Lift jack - New Daytona 15” black steel off road wheels with Goodyear 37 x 13.50 military-grade radial tires - 4" Trail Master spring suspension lift and1.5" body lift (just right!) - New wheel bearings, pitman arm, tie rod ends, drag link, stabilizer, bushings, etc. - Black Diamond off-road shocks and steering stabilizer - 360 cubic inch engine rebuilt to High Performance standards including forged pistons, performance cam and lifters, cylinder heads fully rebuilt, new headers, intake, carb, ignition, and more. The block was line-honed and bored .030” over, with top quality parts used without... a very powerful great-running, and great sounding engine! - Turbo Hydromatic three-speed automatic transmission rebuilt at same time as engine (~10k miles on both since rebuilds) - Front and rear drive axles and Quadra Track 4x4 transfer case serviced and in proper working order -Rebuilt and balanced drivelines with new universal joints - New front-to-back full dual 2.5" exhaust with new dual Flow Master mufflers and Catco performance catalytic converters (will pass DEQ nationwide!) - Brake system completely rebuilt including rotors, drums, pads, shoes, master, and booster - Fuel system completely rebuilt including steam-cleaned tank, new fuel pump, filter, and Edelbrock carburetor - Charging/electrical system rebuilt including alternator, starter, battery, solenoid, and ignition, headlamps, bulbs, relays, etc. - Frame, suspension, undercarriage, etc. cosmetically restored and beautiful - Original two-tone brown and black Sport front bucket seat interior seat upholstery is in decent and usable condition. Beautiful new carpet, and new overhead insulation. The door panels, rear side panels, and rear seat are in excellent condition. The Tawny Orange paint in the interior cabin and underhood is still factory-original! This special Cherokee Chief Sport Wide Track is not only beautiful to look at, but is also a turn-key, reliable daily driver. She starts easily and runs great, runs cool, and drives superbly as well, with excellent street manners. Of course the Quadra Track 4x4 is in proper working order for your off-road adventures as well. I have owned many built and lifted 4x4’s over the years, and this is about as good as it gets... an almost factory-like ride. I have receipts for much of the work performed; there has been over $40,000.00 and ten years spent on this Jeep to turn her into the beast you see today. All the work has been professionally performed; no amateur or back-yard build here; this is a classy, quality rig from top to bottom. The only things that I can think that you may wish to do in the future include servicing the factory air conditioning system, installing a new headliner, and perhaps new front seat upholstery at some point. Also, the vacuum-operated cruise control is disabled, but present. This is a very rare opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind Cherokee Chief. Definitely one of the coolest 4x4's ever built.
