It is dry onderneath without the typical rear main seepage. The automatic trans shifts great and 4WD works fine. Overall the Jeep gives a nice smooth ride with no issues. This jeep has the optional overhead console. The Jeep is in good overall mechanical shape. It has new tires. It runs smooth. It has good brakes. The Jeep has cold AC and good heat. The power windows and locks work good. The exhaust sounds fine but the muffler looks a little rusty. The shocks ride OK, but a little rusty also.The best thing about this Jeep is a very nice rust free body. The floors and frame are nice and solid. I did find a couple of small rust bubbles on the bottom edge of the drivers door if you look close, and some minor rust on the front differential housing. It is in much better shape than most. The Jeep looks great. The paint has a good shine with some minor weathering on the hood typical Chrysler Jeep of that era, but not very noticeable. The interior is in nice clean shape, with no seat rips, above average for its age. The Jeep shows no signs of being smoked in and looks well taken care of.Overall this is a nice Jeep Cherokee with many miles of service left. These Jeeps hold there value very well.
