Myself and my partner that restored this jeep are true jeep enthusiasts, we due this for the love of the jeeps. Although this is not true 100% number matching restoration. We kept true to the 1977 Renegade that it is. With our combined 40 years experience breaking fixing wheeling jeeps, we were very miticulious in what modifications that were made to this rare classic. Some of the modifications include upgraded ignition and charging system for reliability. One piece axle shafts in the rear axle. Using wrangler tub (so no chance of rusting in the near future) installing roll forward rear seat, this makes the rear of the jeep more accessible for storage. (Carrying cooler and gear) all stainless bolts used throughout the body and interior. Every piece and part of this jeep has been refurbished, replaced or rebuilt. Complete frame off restoration. Drive trainMotor rebuilt AMC 304, built to factory spec. Motorcraft factory 2 barrel carburetor. New distributor changed to an HEI (for reliability) all new ignition system and charging system.Duel exhaust that runs between the frame rails, exiting in the rear.New clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing installed.Transmission is the holly grail of jeep transmissions, the granny geared t18. 6.12 to 1 1st gearTransfer case is the factory dana 20.All drive lines have spicer ujoints.Front axle is the factory dana 30. 4.10 gears open diff.Rear axle is the factory AMC 20 4.10 gears with locker. One piece moser axle shafts.Brakes are factory to the the jeep, front disc, rear drums, manual master cylinder.Power steering is all factory, with Saginaw steering box and pump. BodyTub is completely rust free. Was donated from a 1993 wrangler. So the tub has been galvanized from the factory, should last many years with out rusting. Tailgate is hinged to swing out for better access into the rear of the jeep. All body panels were prepped and painted individually while apart from the jeep. Inside and out was painted on all the panels. Premium quality paint was used (DuPont chroma base polyurethane) new reproduction jeep authorized graphics were used on the hood. Stainless hardware was used to assemble all the body panels. Suspension Softride 4" spring under leaves, with new shocks Tires & wheelsNew Goodyear wrangler dura tracks 285 75 17 (basically a 33" 12.5)New American racing aluminum wheels 8"x17" (we just couldn't put the factory white spoke wheels back on!) Interior Front seats are a factory low back, recovered in cloth. Rear seat is a factory fold forward wrangler seat. New carpet. New after market center console. Factory dash pad with one small crack. Dash has been restored to factory. Tach and clock was added. Factory under dash lights. Factory cigarette lighter and ash tray. Newer wrangler heater. FrameFrame is original to the jeep. It has been cleaned and refinished. It was rust free and didn't have any of the usual cracks at the rear spring hangers, or by the steering box. New poly 16 gallon factory style gas tank, which new skid plate. This jeep is new. But don't be fooled, although everything is restored, it's still a 1977 cj7. It rides like 70's cj. And stops like one also. Everything feels solid and tight while going down the road. Engine runs and sounds great. Has great power, as a v8 should in a jeep. No rattles or noises. Tranny shift just like the t18 should, clutch is tight. Brakes work just like manual 70's cj brakes should (pump them) All in all if you want to know what it was like to drive a new 1977 renegade of the dealers lot, this is the jeep for you!
