1986 Jeep CJ7 Laredo (clone) RESTO/MOD I'm looking to sell my 86 Jeep CJ7 which has had a frame off restoration, can't say for certain that it was a Laredo edition from the factory. This Jeep has had every nut and bolt removed during its restoration about two years ago. There are two small rust spots on the passenger fender (in all fairness the paint is OK but ruff in spots) and the dash clock is broken but everything else is in great shape. The engine was rebuilt along with the drive train (axles, trans and transfer case) about 2000-3000 miles ago. Soft top and storm cover included but not shown in photos. The Jeep has been featured in many articles and technical how to write ups (including the "build page") on Jeepz.com (search username "PoliceMonkey 161"). During the restoration, I took it all the way down to every nut and bolt. I spared no expense during the buildup. This Jeep is a real head turner and gets lots of attention at shows/rallies. It is currently set-up with 2.73 gears and a T5 transmission for better fuel economy on paved roads. It gets approximately 15 mpg and has an estimated 285 hp. It even has the original ash tray and cigar lighter! Some of the work done, mods and upgrades include:-10,000 lbs winch w/cover (never used)-Stainless Steel fasteners all the way around w/ socket hex cap bolts (from Totally Stainless) -Aluminum radiator with custom twin e-fans (wired with override “on” switch)-Rebuilt 258 engine bored .40 over with high compression pistons and reground crank-Comp Cams high lift cam-Vacuum storage/reserve system for big cam-Fully ported heads-Clifford intake manifold w/ matching valve cover-Weber 38/38 with high-flo air intake (choke has been removed)-Borla Stainless Steel headers-DUI electronic ignition-P/B-P/S w aux cooler-hydraulic clutch -New wiring harness (Centech)-Stainless Steel brake lines-electric fuel pump system setup specifically for Weber carb (includes low oil psi cut-out/roll-over protection)-Rebuilt T5 transmission -Rebuilt transfer case w/ twin shift and oil sight tube-Custom rebuilt AMC 20 rear: one piece axles, trussed and stitched welded tubes-Rebuilt D30 front with Super Winch hubs-High output alternator-Tom Woods custom drive shafts-Frame treated inside and out (Eastwood products)-Tub bedlinered inside, underhood and wheel wells-Undercarriage treated with OEM style undercoating-Diamond tread plated floor boards and bed coverings. -YJ Family Style roll bar w four retractable seat belts -31” BF Goodrich T/A’s including spare with less than 3500 miles on them-Heater blower motor upgrade-SmittyBuilt XRC body armor and step rails-New body bushings with repaired frame mounts as needed-Aux cab heater -and much more………..
