Full Nut and Bolt Rotisserie restoration completed in 2014. This car is an Original Black Plate California car and spent its entire pampered life rolling down the Pacific coast highway. We wanted to start this restoration with a solid, complete car so we could restore it using the Original parts and components from this car not second hand or reproduction parts. We meticulously removed every nut and bolt, media blasted them and restored them back to the original manufacture finish. Everything on this car is Correct as when originally assembled new. This E-Type is the finest example of a No Expense Spared restoration that you will ever see. The E-Type Jaguar had all of the cutting edge technology. Right out of the box, this car was good for a top speed over 150 mph and 0-60 mph around 6.5 seconds. Technological advances included monocoque construction disc brakes, rack and pinion steering and independent front and rear suspension. One area that Jaguar really hit the nail on the head was the styling. E-types are often referred to as some of the most beautiful vehicles ever made. This particular example is a Series 1 which are considered to be the most desirable and most beautiful. This run from 1961-1967 is known for its covered headlights. The glass headlight covers frame the front mouth opening on either side. This opening is smaller on the Series 1 cars in comparison to the later cars. Other distinguishing features are the rear lights mounted above the bumpers and the exhaust exiting beneath the number plate in the rear. The 3.8L Inline 6 is equipped with triple SU carburetors and is good for an output of 265 horsepower and 240 lb ft of torque. The power is put to the wheels through the Moss four-speed gearbox. These Power figures were highly impressive for this era, especially considering the lightweight construction kept the weight of this roadster under 3000 pounds. This car has correct leather-upholstered bucket seats, Leather-trimmed center instrument panel and console. The vehicle rides on independent suspension all around and features very unique inboard rear brakes. Power disc brakes are standard in all four corners. This particular XKE has been privately owned by the owner of JK Auto Group. The engine and transmission are original to this car and have been completely restored to exact factory specifications. Comments: This is a superb car. 1966 Jaguar 3.8-S Saloon in gorgeous Opalescent Maroon with a tan interior and knock-off wire wheels. Completely gone though only 4000 miles ago starting with an excellent original car. Runs, Drives, & looks spectacular. Has the class and luxury of a vintage Jaguar sedan, the power and sport of an XKE, the alloy 3.8 liter twin carb DOHC engine and 4 speed manual transmission, and the soft supple ride of a Rolls Royce. The driving experience is truly special. The engine was professionally rebuilt by Faithful Automotive Services in Huntington, NY including a .20 over bore, new 9:1 pistons, new rod and main bearings, new cams, new timing gears, new timing chain, and tensioners, machine & polish the crankshaft, machine and polish the head and a complete valve job. total labor time was over 130 hours and over $10,000 spent on the engine alone and the additional parts bill exceed $4,000. Top quality work is not inexpensive but the results are indeed top quality. runs perfectly and like new. A new clutch and resurfaced flywheel was installed and the four speed manual gear box rebuilt. The rear end was also gone though and resealed. This car starts right up and settles into a smooth quite idle. There are no mechanical issues. No smoke, no leaks, no noises, and it runs perfectly on premium unleaded. Accelerates like a 327 V-8 Chevrolet, Noticeably more powerful than a 280 SE Mercedes 4.5 V-8! With immediate throttle response from the twin SU carburetors, lots of torque that progresses into a super strong mid range, and a top speed of over 120 MPH! The four speed manual transmission shifts perfectly and with the over drive electronically actuated by a lever on the steering column cruises comfortably at 75-85 MPH. The ride is soft and supple with excellent control. Not floaty or loose like contemporary American cars of the period. the power rack and pinion has excellent road feel and the 4 wheel disc brakes stop with authority. Which also have been completely gone though as well. This car stops with authority! Exceptionally nice driving car. the interior has been restored with new tan leather seats front and rear. With the solid walnut dash and door trim stained and re-varnished. The gauges were rebuilt and all work properly. the original wool carpet is present and has worn thin in several places. but is still in relatively good condition. the original telescoping steering wheel is excellent with no cracks, no faults, and there is no sun fade on the dash or gauges. All lights,turn signals, windshield wipers, and horn work properly. A premium Ken-wood stereo has been discretely installed and plays perfectly. All toggle switches work correctly and the two rear gas tanks are selected by the appropriate switch with the gas gauge correctly reading that tank's fuel level. The seats were re-cushioned prior to being recovered, they are exceptionally comfortable.Both front and rear seats have fold down armrests.
