As its nomenclature suggests, the XK150 was a progressive development of the XK120 and XK140, retaining the same basic chassis, 3.4-liter engine and four-speed Moss transmission of its predecessors while benefiting from a new, wider body that provided increased interior space and improved visibility courtesy of a single-piece wrap-around windscreen, replacing the XK140's divided screen. Cleverly, the new body used many XK120/140 pressings, the increased width being achieved by means of a 4"-wide central fillet. A higher front wing line and broader radiator grille were other obvious differences, but the new model's main talking point was its Dunlop disc brakes. Fade following repeated stops from high speed had been a problem of the earlier, drum-braked cars, but now the XK had stopping power to match its prodigious straight-line speed. Introduced in the spring of 1957, the XK150 was available at first only in fixed and drophead coupé forms, the open roadster version not appearing until the following year. At 190bhp, the engine's maximum power output was identical to that of the XK140, so performance was little changed. 'Special Equipment' and 'S' versions came with 210 and 250bhp respectively, the latter delivering an astonishing 0-60mph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 136mph. This was achieved by the introduction of the Weslake-developed 'straight-port' cylinder head, high-compression pistons, triple 2" SU carburetors and twin electric fuel pumps. In the autumn of 1959 the XK150 became available with the 3.8-liter engine first seen in the Mark IX saloon. 'Standard' (220bhp) or 'S' (265bhp) states of tune were offered and, in either form, the XK150's increased weight was more than offset by the power of the larger engine, the car regularly recording in excess of 130mph in magazine road tests. This fine XK150 Drophead Coupe is one of the very coveted 3.8-liter models. The car's previous owner had a desire to upgrade the Jaguar to be even sportier, and had the car thoroughly refurbished with several tasteful upgrades. Michigan-based Jaguar specialist Bill Terry fitted a custom fuel injection system on the matching-numbers 3.8-liter engine, as well as performing other engine work. A cleverly engineered system with Bosch injectors hidden in the intake manifold, utilizing the butterfly throttles of the SU carburetors for air, the fuel management is handled by a Simple Digital Systems ECU. This is a construction that is hard to recognize from the outside but helps in both reliability and performance, especially if driving at altitude. The original 4-speed overdrive Moss gearbox has been replaced with a modern 5-speed transmission, and an upgraded clutch was installed. It should be noted that the original numbers-matching transmission is included in the sale of the car. Air conditioning is gracefully integrated into the dash, and under-hood heat is managed by a custom designed system that extracts hot air through hidden pumps and dumps it out through vents in the front fenders. Other upgrades include a variable electric power steering system, an alloy radiator, and a modern alternator. The XK150 presented here has been fitted with the desirable E-Type Series I bucket seats neatly fitted with period correct Burgundy leather, combined with the walnut dash from an XK140 and a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel. This Jaguar has a tasteful interior where one can spend many hours enjoying this all-time British favorite.

On history, condition and specification: Investment grade classic. The original owner passed the Jag onto his son. The restoration was done to the highest standards approximately 10 years ago and it looks fantastic. I am the third owner if you count the son as the second. No metal repairs were necessary anywhere on the vehicle nor carried out due to the dry nature of the vehicles life and exemplary storage conditions. The history on this particular car is very complete. It was originally special ordered and purchased at the jaguar factory in England by an American for $3845.00 or 1858.00pds, I still have the original British license plate and all documentation including approximately 20 letters of correspondence between the original owner and the factory for parts up to 1975. Also with the car are extensive service invoices from the early sixties through a few years ago. The specification ordered and fitted was SE package, Leather, 2.4, Manual and Left hand drive as the original owner expected to send the car back to the US when he was done visiting the country. He left the country before the car did. Due to this fact the car was stored near the Docks of Southhampton at the British Railways garage for a period accumulating a bill around 200pds. The MK1 was eventually sent back to the US on the SS United States. He kept this car until his passing in the early nineties and from reading his correspondence with the factory maintained the car to a standard second to none. This lovely Jag drives out wonderfully, starts with a flip of the key and a push of the button. There will be no disappointments with this car. 1973 Jaguar XJ12 SWB. The rarest production Jaguar ever made. Only made between July 1972 and August 1973. This car was originally special ordered by a board member of the Jaguar North America dealer network. Only (3) V12 SWB XJ12s with chrome air cleaners were built. The other two also went to fellow members. The other two are Primrose Yellow on Biscuit and British Racing Green on Black. The Yellow one sold about 6 months ago at auction to Germany and the BRG one sold two years ago to a collector in Washington state. Initially Sir William Lyons had designed the incoming XJs engine compartment to take the V12, then under final development, from the start. This would be the last Jaguar Sir William Lyons would design before his retirement. The original Lyons XJ design is the purest form of the model that would continue into 1987 in the US and 1992 ROW. However, even though the V12 was supposed to be the only engine on offer the times changed and the smaller inline-6 engines became more common and thus are relatively plentiful in varying conditions by comparison. The S1 XJ12 model was the choice car for the Jaguar founder and was maintained as his regular car for many years into his retirement. It has been frequently noted by the man himself that the XJ was his proudest accomplishment and favorite car he had created far above the E-Type, XKs, MKs and SS cars. One only has to drive the original XJ to see why he came to that conclusion. It simply was a massive leap in refinement beyond all of the companies offerings at the time. The S1 is also noted to be considered the best looking sedan of all time. Among enthusiasts of the marque the S1 is considered the first and last truly well built XJ before the strikes and cost cutting measures of BL that pushed Jaguar to bankruptcy and into the hands of Ford in the late 80's. This particular XJ12 is turn key. The fuel system, brakes, cooling system, alternator, ignition system, and the transmission have been completely rebuilt. The car rests on new Goodyear tires on all four corners. It goes, steers, shifts and stops like a new XJ12 would. Idle is 700 rpm in park and neutral, 550 in drive. At idle oil pressure is just under 40psi - 80psi when driving. The oil I am using is 15-40 Shell Rotella. With the lights and radio on at idle the alternator is charging at 13V this goes up to 13.5V over idle and stays there. The water temperature gauge stays around the O in normal when driving and never goes past the R. The paint and chrome is excellent throughout as is evidenced in the photos. There is no rust anywhere on this car. This vehicle is collector quality and completely show worthy as it stands. Every single electrical item functions perfectly. Windows, Gauges, Clock, Antenna, Radio, Lights, Wipers (Park and both speeds), Fuel sensors, Fuel switchover valve, Air conditioning, Blower motors (both of them), Hazards, Turn signals (both directions self-cancel), Horns... The interior is completely original and smells like a Jaguar should. Low miles, care, and climate controlled storage have maintained the leather and wood in exceptional condition. There are no cracks or crazing in the wood on the dash or doors. There are also no cracks in the dash cover. The door seals are all perfect and malleable. The vent window seals have been replaced. There is absolutely no wind noise whatsoever in the car at freeway speeds and beyond. The loudest thing you can hear at 70-80mph is the clock. This is a three owner car. The original owner was on the board of Jaguar North Americas dealer network at the time in California. He kept the car until 1976-77. The 1954 XK120 Roadster available here was in storage from 1998 until November 2012. It was owned and enjoyed by the same couple for over 30 years before the husband passed in 1998. Unable to part with her husband’s favorite car, it was left in a garage behind the house on blocks until last year. When rescued, it was complete with the factory Primrose finish and the stock Burgundy interior. The original chrome wire wheels are clean and true, and even the period Michelin X tires remain on the car.The current caretaker undertook a sympathetic freshening of the car, careful to preserve as much originality as possible. The mechanicals were cleaned and lubricated, all fluids replaced, and the owner reports that with new gas, the Jaguar fired up readily. It stays cool, shows 45 pounds of oil pressure, runs without smoke and is incredibly sound. The car shows just over 68,000 miles on the odometer, which according to the widow is correct, but we do not have documentation to verify. The overall condition, however, leads us to believe that this could easily be correct, and after a thorough detailing, the engine bay looks fantastic.After careful cleaning, the body and paintwork exhibit fine patina, with significant paint checking throughout but good adhesion, and a remarkable shine considering the long storage. The original top and side curtains are in good condition and obviously authentic, and the condition of the seats and interior are nothing short of excellent. The aluminum brightwork and interior trim are un-pitted and very nice, with a small crack in the original windscreen being the only noticeable flaw.Mechanically sound and in remarkably original condition, the lovely Roadster can be reliably enjoyed with no further investment, and will be recognized for the amazing patina it displays at any JCNA event. Consider the benefits of owning a highly original example from the last year of production of one of Jaguar’s greatest achievements, the legendary XK120 Roadster.

The machine: 2003 JAGUAR S-Type R! Yes, it only has 9000 miles on it!!Clean and nice car. Brand new tires all the way around. Full service has just been completed, new oil and air filter as well. Interior is perfect. Exterior is near perfect. There are a couple very minor expected chips on the front and rear bumper. This car has been in storage for the last 7 or 8 years. Just tuned up and oil changed. Runs and drives very well. Tires are balanced and full wheel alignment has been just completed.There are a couple scratches on the brake calipers. One rear parking brake caliper has been removed due to it being inoperable. The car has two error codes "dsc not avail", and "cat system fault" that pop up on the dash.
