This a a beautiful Jag XKR convertible. This Jag has front end collision damage. The car was hit in the left front and the nose is swayed to the right. It is a classic left to right sway front end hit. We have attempted to show the damage on the vehicle, the left front rail is swung to the right and the windshield is broken. There are no deployed air bags in this vehicle and the interior is reflective of the very low mileage. The engine runs excellent and the vehicle can be yard driven. Stunning "Signal Red" (Bright Red, Paint Code "CFC") over rich "Warm Charcoal" (Black, Trim Code "LEG") leather interior with matching power folding canvas top and boot… Polished burled wood accents on the dash and console… lots of “brightwork” chrome trim inside and out… this is the last of the classic XJS Jags before the final modernization and revision of this model the following year. Purportedly rare in numbers when new, and even rarer today in this state and condition, the Classic Collection further sets this one-owner, lady driven convertible “cat” above the rest. Designed in the mid-1970’s as a replacement for the legendary Jaguar XKE/E-Type sports car; the Jaguar XJ-S/XJS stepped-it-up a notch, matching an exotic V-12 engine with a sleek, classically proportioned body and a sporty yet still very luxurious suspension/chassis. Produced for over 20 years in various versions and limited editions, the XJS would become a true grand touring sensation in the Jaguar tradition. This XJS drives, tracks and handles tight and correct, like a car with just a bit over 20,230 original miles should. Slipping into this car is like stepping back in time, when cars were unique unto themselves in sight, feel, sound and smell. The ride! The interior is swathed in rich Connolly leather, Wilton wool and exotic lacquered wood… you look over that long sculpted metal hood (or "bonnet"?) through full analog instrumentation with a gauge or a light for nearly everything. This car simply wraps itself around you! The V12 HE, “High Efficiency” motor is effortlessly silky smooth and responsive. Three-speed Jaguar/GM-Turbo 400 Automatic shifts tight and perfectly. Everything on this car is fresh, like-new in appearance and works. The body is pin-straight with original and true fitment/panel gaps. The red paint is bright and deep and in excellent condition for being the better part of 25 years old. This car has been garage kept its entire life. A simple yet tasteful, gold painted/engine-turned pinstripe adorns the flanks giving a sharp contrast along the side body-line. No tacked-on aftermarket body-strips or ding-trims as found on other Jags of this vintage. The only other non-original accessory on this car is the battery tender/trickle charger in the trunk… connected to a brand-new battery. Everything else is original Jaguar equipment. Original cross-hatch, BBS-like 15” factory alloy wheels in perfect condition on Eagle GT II tires. All papers, cards, booklets and original accessories included. Original VIN stickers and identification tags still adorn this car. The owners picked-up this car new, right-off the showroom floor in Montclair, NJ back in 1991. This car is a strong 2, but can easily be brought-up to a 1 on the classic car condition grading scale. This car needs to be concours detailed and be driven more to be sorted-out to become a certain show winner on any circuit. The surfaces are still fresh. The only flaws I could find are due to age and the sun- there are a few hairline cracks in the lacquered wood center console trim; maybe a few creases here and there in the leather seats from being sat in… that’s it. If there’s a scratch or a mark, I haven’t seen it or it’s hardly noticeable or even warrants mention for a car this age. Overall the car feels clean, crisp, complete and like-new.
