VIN: 1E15812This E-type Roadster is a matching numbers example. According to its Heritage Certificate it was delivered new to the U.S. market and sold new by Jaguar Cars New York to its first registered owner Mr. David Reimens of Wharton, Texas on July 17th, 1967.This E-type has been a Texas car for almost all of its life. It was left early on unused in a garage, but complete. Purchased by Jaguar restoration firm, it was completely restored. Subsequently, it was sold to a Mr. R. Isip a Texas Toyota dealer and collector. In 2012, this E-type was offered for sale. Subsequently, purchased sight unseen from the internet by our client and its previous owner in 2012, it was delivered to its new home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once received and upon inspection by a marquee expert, it was noted to be a mediocre restoration at best.It was decided to send this E-type to Texas based Jaguar expert, Dan Mooney’s Classic Jaguar for a thorough nut-and-bolt restoration that also provided an upgraded level of performance while aiming for cosmetic authenticity and thus, re-restore this E-type properly and to exacting standards, the way it should have been in the first place! New high-performance camshafts, enlarged stainless steel valves, Forged pistons, lightweight flywheel, K&N filters and an aluminum radiator were fitted for improved performance. For better road holding and drivability, Classic Jaguar added a five-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, Koni shocks, upgraded torsion bars and wider, polished Dayton wire wheels mounted with Dunlop performance tires. Cosmetically the choice was made to retrofit a Series 1 bonnet with covered headlamps. Although not significantly altered from its original configuration, this E-type boasts approximately 300 horsepower in its current form. A complete list of upgrades can be seen within the photos. Once received and upon inspection by a marquee expert, it was noted to be a mediocre restoration at best.It was decided to send this E-type to Texas based Jaguar expert, Dan Mooney’s Classic Jaguar for a thorough nut-and-bolt restoration that also provided an upgraded level of performance while aiming for cosmetic authenticity and thus, re-restore this E-type properly and to exacting standards, the way it should have been in the first place! New high-performance camshafts, enlarged stainless steel valves, Forged pistons, lightweight flywheel, K&N filters and an aluminum radiator were fitted for improved performance. For better road holding and drivability, Classic Jaguar added a five-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, Koni shocks, upgraded torsion bars and wider, polished Dayton wire wheels mounted with Dunlop performance tires. Cosmetically the choice was made to retrofit a Series 1 bonnet with covered headlamps. VIN: 1E15812 This E-type Roadster is a matching numbers example. According to its Heritage Certificate it was delivered new to the U.S. market and sold new by Jaguar Cars New York to its first registered owner Mr. David Reimens of Wharton, Texas on July 17th, 1967. This E-type has been a Texas car for almost all of its life. It was left early on unused in a garage, but complete. Purchased by Jaguar restoration firm, it was completely restored. Subsequently, it was sold to a Mr. R. Isip a Texas Toyota dealer and collector. In 2012, this E-type was offered for sale. Subsequently, purchased sight unseen from the internet by our client and its previous owner in 2012, it was delivered to its new home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once received and upon inspection by a marquee expert, it was noted to be a mediocre restoration at best. It was decided to send this E-type to Texas based Jaguar expert, Dan Mooney’s Classic Jaguar for a thorough nut-and-bolt restoration that also provided an upgraded level of performance while aiming for cosmetic authenticity and thus, re-restore this E-type properly and to exacting standards, the way it should have been in the first place! New high-performance camshafts, enlarged stainless steel valves, Forged pistons, lightweight flywheel, K&N filters and an aluminum radiator were fitted for improved performance. For better road holding and drivability, Classic Jaguar added a five-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, Koni shocks, upgraded torsion bars and wider, polished Dayton wire wheels mounted with Dunlop performance tires. Cosmetically the choice was made to retrofit a Series 1 bonnet with covered headlamps. Early history is unknown, but the chassis, body and original interior acknowledge this belief. It is one of the nicest, tightest, straightest and most honest E-type’s we have seen in some time. Purchased in 2006 in mechanically restored form by its previous owner-collector and well known client to Autosport Designs, Inc., it has been well-cared for and sympathetically restored since with care to not diminish much of its original condition, such as its original and superb interior and original chrome which cannot be replicated. Built in March of 1974, it was imported through British Leyland Motors for the Pontiac/Cadillac dealer in Bristol, Connecticut. In turn the E-type was sold to Mr. Peter Fazzone of Milldale, Connecticut. Prior to 1998 it had been in long term ownership having been owned by a West Coast collector. It has been cared for properly and with attention to preserving what is one of the best, sympathetically restored V-12 Roadsters we have had the pleasure of owning. As can be seen from the photographs, it is in absolutely superb, well serviced condition and with only slight legitimate patina to its original leather seats. It has been cared for exceptionally well and carefully to preserve in this condition. It has been properly repainted in the recent past in its original color. It is a rare to find such a well preserved example of a V-12 Roadster in this condition, it has never sustained any accident damage and has never had the need for rust repair.
