The date of manufacture of this great car was December 16 of 1964 and the date of dispatch was December 30 of 1964. The car is finished in its original and very desirable color combination of Opalescent Silver Blue with Dark Blue interior. This is an early 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe and one of the first 400 coupes made. This beautiful Jaguar E-type is a matching numbers car. It does come with a Heritage Certificate confirming originality. In addition, it also comes with documentation of the substantial work done to this car since 2006. The goal was to make this car an exceptional driver with driver upgrades. Also, from what we understand, there has not been a lot of miles placed on this car since this work has been done. This car does run and drive exceptional. We have driven this car extensively in the humid and warm North Carolina summer and the car holds temperature great thanks to the Aluminum radiator and electric fan upgrade. Furthermore, the cockpit remains nice and cool with a new RetroAir air conditioning system installed and designed specifically for Jaguar E-types. The Jaguar E-type presented here has plenty of power and a lot of fun to drive. This Jaguar is fantastic to drive at any speed as well and very tight throughout. There is no shaking in the steering wheel, no noises (or grinding) in any of the gears, no rear end noise and the clutch feels great. It has excellent oil pressure, and the compression was tested recently (7/20/15): 1)-150psi, 2)-155, 3)-145, 4)-155,5)-145,6)-150. Everything is working as it should and is truly a pleasant car to enjoy. Some of the work done over the past 10 years that we have correspondence on, some pictures and invoices on this E-type Coupe are as follows: Rebuilt engine. Rebuilt carburetors. New Alternator Repainted around 2005 Original Opalescent Silver Blue All New Floors. New Stainless Steel Exhaust System. Full Rebuild of the rear end and all new Koni shocks and new brake calipers. New front brake calipers and new front end bushings. All bumpers re-chromed. All brakes re-sleeved with stainless steel. New Brake master cylinder. Rebuilt servo. New Slave Cylinder. New Wheel bearings. New upper and lower ball joints. All new belts, hoses and clamps. All new gaskets. New water pump. New interior: New dark blue leather seats with all new Dark Blue carpet, center console, grey headliner, door panels, dash, wheel arch covers, rear panel, door sills. New seat belts. New 15” Wooden Steering Wheel installed (5) New 72 Dayton SS Spoke Chrome Wheels with new chrome knock offs (5) 185R15 Michelin Red Lines Tires Solid state electronic fuel pump installed New windshield with all new rubber seals installed. New Aluminum Radiator with Integral fan installed Full XKE A/C kit from RetroAir installed with new hoes, pulleys, compressor etc. New Interstate Battery Underside cleaned, degreased, detailed and coated with 3M Body Schutz New Thermostat New gear reduction starter installed (the original goes with the car). Jaguar tool set, jack and THOR knock off hammer Torsion bars adjusted as needed for correct vehicle level. All gauges gone through and voltage regulator replaced. Handbrake Micro switch Replaced Oil changed at 46,157 miles (6/26/15) and all fluids checked and fittings lubricated. New Speedometer cable and angle drive (speedo was bouncing). Engine compartment detailed. Valve covers removed and polished. Carburetors cleaned and polished. Intake manifold polished. Overflow tank powder coated, as well as heater box and expansion tank. The exhaust manifolds were ceramic coated on inside and out for longevity. AC system serviced on 6/26/15. Evacuated FREON and leak check system. Recharged system and replaced Schraeder valves. New A/C compressor relay installed. Overall, this E-type Coupe is a higher end driver level car. This is a great car for someone who likes to drive their cars anywhere and enjoy them, rather than just taking them to shows. We would say overall, this car is a very nice #2 driver car. This XK140 is the very desirable "MC" or Special Equipment model outfitted with a high compression cylinder head as used on the C-type racing cars, giving it the ability to produce 210 horsepower with a dual exhaust, a crankshaft damper, wire wheels, fog lamps, and windshield washers. The XK140 was an improved from the previous XK120 with such upgrades as precise rack and pinion steering, improved brakes and cooling, plus more cabin comfort and legroom. The date of production of this special car was January 26 of 1955 and the date of dispatch was March 5 of 1955. The original distributor was Max Hoffman in New York and the first owner was K. Bemant. We purchased this Jaguar XK140MC Open Two Seater (OTS) from the owner who had this car for over 20 years (since 1993). We do have history on this car going back to 1960 as the same family owned this car from 1960 to 1992 before. As we understand, the car has 910 miles since it was previously body off restored. This Jaguar has the original and matching number engine (head and block). The 4 speed transmission was upgraded with another correct 4-speed transmission with the desirable electric overdrive. The car was completed in the gorgeous color combination of Red with Biscuit/Red leather (Duotone) interior. Prior to our purchase of this car, it was sitting for about a year, so we had to go through everything on this great car. This work is documented in the form of invoices and receipts, as well as some pictures of the engine work done. Furthermore, there are pictures from the prior restoration of the car. This Jaguar XK runs and drives wonderful. The oil pressure is excellent as is the compression which is 1)-155 psi, 2)155, 3)150, 4)145, 5)150, 6)145. The electric overdrive engages nicely in 4th gear. This car comes with the Heritage Certificate to confirm the original matching engine number (head and block) with the chassis number and to also to confirm that it is indeed an original XK140 SE with the original C-type head. The exhaust note is fabulous and so much vintage Jaguar or the way they are supposed to sound. This XK140MC is an absolute joy to drive and has plenty of power. Overall, this is a beautiful example of a rare Jaguar XK140MC Roadster. . This car was completed to be an exceptional show/driver car and we would say an excellent #2 condition car. This Jaguar was built on October 8th of 1969 and the date of dispatch was November 5th 1969. The first owner was Mr. Cotton Guio of Big Piney in Wyoming USA. This great car is the original color combination of Regency Red with biscuit/tan interior. It has history, receipts and correspondence going back to 1973. It was never abused and always kept up with the utmost care. This is a very special Jaguar E-type Coupe. There are not a lot of Jaguar E-types that drive as well as this one does. It shifts perfect and handles exceptional. This is a car for someone who is going to drive it and enjoy the car! The interior was redone and looks better than new. In addition, the paint, while not brand new was redone as well and looks beautiful on the car. Furthermore, the engine was rebuilt at 54,576 miles, but was also taken apart and refreshed in 2012 at 83,750 miles as detailed below. The car has 84,472 original miles, so to put this in perspective on a 45 year old car, it has averaged 1,900 miles per year with most of the miles placed on this car early in its life. There were only about 18,000 miles placed on this great Jaguar since 1979.The carburetors have also been rebuilt. This fabulous E-type has the original Jaguar tool set, as well as the original Jack, knock off adapter and hammer.
