My father and I own a few cars together... we have decided to sell a few...Up here is what is called a "Sleeper"A documented California 1962 Jaguar Mark2 3.8 4 speed car that was converted (1970-1971) to a 350 hp 1968 Oldsmobile 350 Ram Rod engine with Turbo 350 Transmission The original clutch pedal assembly still under dashAll data plates confirm it was originally supplied with a 3.8 9 compression engine with a 4 speed manualI have personally known the car since 1968. My father has had every Jaguar from SS100 to XJS through the years. This car is incredible to drive, is extremely fast sleeper with High horsepower replacement drive-train. It is instant fun and very reliable. Exterior:The car was painted once (same original color) and is in very nice condition. There is not a hint of rust or accident ever... always garaged since brand new... always here in Carlsbad California. (nicest, very dry weather in the world)Body is straight as an arrow.Chrome is very good though rear bumper needs rechromingHas old Maserati sideview mirrors aka "Baby Turbos" I have been looking for correct original mirrors.Tires newInterior:Seats are excellent thought a vinyl material in correct pattern.Carpets very niceWool Headliner very niceSteering wheel excellentDash wood very good.Radio works but stays onDrivetrain: 1968 Oldsmobile 350 10.25 compression (extremely low mile engine) Special Rochester Quadrajet Hurst Olds Carburetor (rebuilt) Holley aluminum Two pod custom air cleaner New Aluminum Radiator New Fuel pump New front rear seal New oil pan seal New Alternator New Waterpump New Aluminum radiator expansion tank (not installed goes with car) Transmission is Turbo 350 and is excellent working condition (Cosmetically planned to put Lokar Shifter kit to make it look like manual , they are very nice and cost 2-300 dollars, current one works excellent) Exhaust system is like new, though slight exhaust leak on left side, bought new gaskets (goes with car) but then considering to replace original exhaust manifolds with hugger headers (2-300 dollars), for more loud sound. The Mark2 Jaguars were successful race cars, mainly due to high out put motors and 4 wheel disk brakes. The brakes work very well though i have had no reason to check them. Has original spare rim and Owners manual as well as factory service manual Original Jack still in trunk This jaguar is a joy to drive... I would get the parts together to go back to original after driving daily for next 10 years.. Factory high compression Manual Mark 2's are most rare and expensive of the breed. Happy bidding sold as isData plate has original rivetsChassis number is 216158Body number S-010854Engine number LB-1817-9Gearbox number GB 4516 JSTitle has J62 then chassis number...
